One site with one product or multi product website

Lets suppose that i have 10 NICHE products under me. Should i make one site for each product or one site overall. If i make 1 site for each product i get several advantages -
Domain name has keyword
-
Title tags etc will be dedicated to one keyword only.
Disavantage - Backlinking for each domain will become tougher. Advantage of one site onl -
Good management
-
Seo / backlinks becomes easier
-
Blogging to attract traffic becomes easier
-
Can target a lot of keywords through business blogging
Disadvantages - Can become messy with unimportant keywords gaining importance.
SO WHAT DO YOU THINK??? One site per product or One site for all products?
-
-

No.. All the products are related and they wall under the same product category. I guess u are right. By starting separate websites, i can miss reference business as well. As in a customer needing one product, might just need another as well.

A variety of products can rank well if they are well SEO'd. If the products are related I'd put them together on one site. If they were ten totally unrelated products - for example, toe scratchers and garden gnomes, I'd be more inclined to create 10 sites. After all, you'll want to incorporate social media and develop content for your potential customers that is relevant or related to the products you are selling.

It definitely helped. I was gonna go that with the primary seo strategy. But then i was confused whether i shud have one product specific domain itself. Lets c. Will try this strategy and i think it should work.
-

Well, You can have a website architecture like: domain.com/productnamespecifickeyword.html - okay you will need to optimize that one - okay you will need to optimize that one and then target productnamespecifickeyword.html with links which have productnamespecifickeyword as anchor text I hope that hepled, Istvan

Thanks a lot for the answer. But if i have multi products in one domain, will all the keywords rank high??? As in i want to rank high for 10 keywords on the same domain, should i change the anchor text during backlinking? What should be the seo strategy in one site multi product cases?

Hi Hitesh, I would go for one domain. Creating a lot of mini-sites maybe will help you in short term... BUT if you are going for long term, then you should focus on creating a larger websites. Focus on creating 1 page for each product and target it to the specific page. With less effort you can benefit of link building for one domain. Don't forget to do a keyword mapping. I hope it hepled, Istvan

No index for http version of website
Hi, I've had a message from Google search console to say the sitemap for the http version of my site is tagged as no index. As the https version is indexed, do I need to change the http version to be indexed as well? Do I need to keep the http version of the site in search console alongside the https version, or should I remove it? Advice appreciated! On-Page Optimization | | Robingoodlad0

Product content length & links within product description
Hello, I have questions regarding content length and links within descriptions. With our ecommerce site, we have thousands of products, each with a unique description. In the product description, I have links to the parent category and grandparent category (if it has one) in the main product text which is generally about 175 words. Then I have a last paragraph that's about 75 words that includes links to our main homepage and our main product catalogue page. Is the content length long enough? I used to use text that was 500 words, and shortening it I still rank when launching new products, so I don't think an increase in text length will have any additional benefit. I do see conflicting information when I do searches, with some people recommending a minimum of 300 words and some saying to try and go a 1000 for category pages. In regards to the links, I noticed a competitor has stopped following this format, so I'm unsure if I should keep going too. Is it too many links to have each of the products link back to the main catalogue and homepage? Is it good to have links with anchor text to the categories a product is in? There are breadcrumbs on the page with these links already. There are already have heaps of links on our pages (footer, and a right sidebar with image links to relevant categories), so my pages do get flagged for too many links. Thanks! How many product subcategories are ok?
Let's say I have a sea glass ankle bracelet. On my site, my main keyword is "Sea Glass Jewelry" and have ranked relatively well for this, but this main page has over 200 products in it. I thought that if the URL has the keywords in it, it would be beneficial. I also have a section for all my bracelets, so it would be there and then, a more specific ankle bracelets category. So, technically, an ankle bracelet will show up 3x. Sea Glass Jewelry (all products go here) Bracelets (all bracelets go here) Ankle Bracelets (only ankle bracelets) The URL is only attached to the main category so to speak. If you click the ankle bracelets category, the url will still revert back to the original main category: seaglassjewelry/sterlinganklebracelet so I don't believe there is duplicate content. I have had my domain for years and it has ranked well until someone hacked into my site 2 years back. I have never been able to recover from this loss. Since then, I have tried to optimize my site, but nothing seems to be working and I just want to make sure that I am not hurting my ranking by doing this. Can someone confirm this is the best way to do it or make a suggestion? Thank you. On-Page Optimization | | tiffany11030

301 Redirect to product page or category?
We manage an ecommerce website that sells health products. A few products have now been discontinued. I’m just wondering what would be the best practice in this case. Should we 301 redirect to a similar product or to a similar category page? ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED! On-Page Optimization | | odegi0

		Important keywords in product names
Hi! among other we sell motorcycle clothing, which you can buy as a set (both jacket and pants) or single piece. Currently we name the products with the labeling in the beginning, e.g: Motorcycle pants R2000, Motorcycle jacket R2000, Motorcycle kit R2000 Motorcycle pants R4000, Motorcycle jacket R4000, Motorcycle kit R4000 This is causing keyword stuffing and cannibalization in the category pages as all the product names include important keywords. On the other hand it would be beneficial to keep the labeling in the name for search queries for the exact product. What be your recommendations? I tend to take the labeling away. Schema.org for news websites?
So as of late I have been on something of a mission to mark up my news website with as much accurate and detailed Schema and Open Graph data as possible, in order to not only allow the search engines to understand my content properly, but also to ensure everything appears in the most ideal fashion when linked to from Facebook, Google+, etc. Here is an example of a typical article page: http://www.nerdscoop.net/technology/video-games-459 As you'll see I currently have news posts marked up as article because that is essentially exactly what they are, but is there a better way to emphasise that they are news rather than just generic articles? My second question is regarding the category pages and the home page. How would be best to mark these up? With OG the task is fairly simple, because I can specify the homepage as being a website, but not so with Schema from what I can see. Either way, this is an interesting subject to me and I look forward to any discussion as a result. Thanks for looking. On-Page Optimization | | HalogenDigital0
