      Hey all,

I'm looking to implement Schema tagging for a local business and am unsure of whether to use "Physician" or "Person" for a handful of doctors. Though "Physician" seems like it should be the obvious answer, Schema.org states that it should refer to "A doctor's office" instead of a physician.

The properties used in "Physician" seem to apply to a physician's practice, and not an actual physician. Properties are sourced from the "Thing", "Place", "Organization", and "LocalBusiness" schemas, so I'm wondering if "Person" might be a more appropriate implementation since it allows for more detail (affiliations, awards, colleagues, jobTitle, memberOf), but I wanna make sure I get this right.

Also, I'm wondering if the "Physician" schema allows for properties pulled from the "Person" schema, which I think would solve everything.

      For reference:

      http://schema.org/Person

      http://schema.org/Physician

Thanks, everyone! Let me know how off-base my strategy is, and how I might be able to tidy it up.

        Hi,

It's really hard to pick right option in these kind of situations since there isn't right answer 🙂 There are perfectly good arguments for choosing both options and there isn't clear definition on what would classify something for one schema and not for another.

Best advice I can give you is to go with what feels right to you.

        Kind regards

        Bojan

My plan was to implement "medicalOrganization" in the footer of every page to define the company, as opposed to "Physician", as it's a larger group with 16 locations.

Maybe my assumption is wrong, but it seems like "Physician" should refer to an individual practitioner's business; because it inherits properties from "Thing", "Place", "Organization" and "LocalBusiness", my thinking was that "medicalOrganization" would be more appropriate for the group.

That said, if "Physician" inherits properties from "medicalOrganization" (via subClassOf), would "Physician" be the best way to mark up / define the group?

Thanks for the help – I like the idea, and will probably incorporate "members" into the "medicalOrganization" or "Physician" schema, whichever seems to be most appropriate / relevant.

            Hi

You can use "Physician" to describe medical office and under its attribute "members" you can post list of doctors as "Person",

            Kind regards

"Avoid Too Many Internal Links" when you have a mega menu

Using the on-page grader and whilst further investigating internal linking, I'm concerned that as the ecommerce website has a very link heavy mega menu the rule of 100 may be impeding on the contextual links we're creating. Clearly we don't want to no-follow our entire menu. Should we consider no-indexing the third-level- for example short sleeve shirts here... Clothing > Shirts > Short Sleeve Shirts What about other pages we're don't care to index anyway such as the 'login page' the 'cart' the search button? Any thoughts appreciated.

Optimization for "Search by Photos" feature

Howdy, fellow mozzers, Does anyone know what affects a given company photos show up in the "Search by Photos" section? I can't find any decent info.. Here is the link to SEL, describing the feature (not even google themselves seem to have an announcement about it). https://searchengineland.com/google-showing-mobile-search-by-photos-option-in-selected-local-verticals-323237 Thanks in advance!

              How To Implement Breadcrumbs

Hi, I'm looking to implement breadcrumbs for e-commerce store so they will appear in the SERP results like the attached image. In terms of implementing to a site, would you simply add HTML to each page like this Google example? Which looks like this: Books › Science Fiction Award Winners Then is there anything you need to do, to get this showing in the SERPs results e.g. doing something in search console. Or do you just wait into google has crawled and hopefully starts showing in the SERPs results? Cheers. wn3ybMMOQFW98fNQkxtJkA.png [SERP results with bread crumbs](SERP results with bread crumbs)

Is Chamber of Commerce membership a "paid" link, breaking Google's rules?

Hi guys, This drives me nuts. I hear all the time that any time value is exchanged for a link that it technically violates Google's guidelines. What about real organizations, chambers of commerce, trade groups, etc. that you are a part of that have online directories with DO-follow links. On one hand people will say these are great links with real value outside of search and great for local SEO..and on the other hand some hardliners are saying that these technically should be no-follow. Thoughts???

Pipe ("|") in my website's title is being replaced with ":" in Google results

Hi , One of the websites I'm promoting and working on is www.pau-brasil.co.il.
It's wordpress-based website and as you can see the html's Title is "PauBrasil | some hebrew slogan".
              (Screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/2f80EEY.gif)
When I'm searching for "PauBrasil" (Which is the brand's name) , one of the results google shows is "PauBrasil: Some Hebrew Slogan" (Screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/eJxNHrO.gif ) Why does the pipe is being replaced with ":" ?
And not just that , as you can see there's a "blank space" missing between the the ":" to the slogan.
(note: the websites has been indexed by google crawler at least 4 times so I find it hard to believe it can be the reason) I've keep on looking and found out that there's another page in that website with the exact same title
but when I'm looking for it in google , it shows the title as it really is , with pipe. ("|").
(Screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/dtsbZV2.gif) Have you ever encountered something like that?
Can it be that the duplicated title cause that weird "replacement"? Thanks in advance,
              Kadel

              Canonical link vs root domain

I have a wordpress website installed on http://domain.com/home/ instead of http://domain.com  - Does it matter whether I leave it that way with a canonical link from the domain.com to the domain.com/home/ or should I move the wordpress files and database to the root domain?

Using the Word "Free" in Metadata

Hi Forum! I've searched previous questions, and couldn't find anything related to this.  I know the word "free" when used in email marketing can trigger spam filters.  If I use the word "free" in my metadata (title tag, description, and keywords just for fun) will I be penalized in any way? Thanks!

Google Said "Repeat the search with the omitted results included."

We have some pages targeting the different countries but with the Near to Similar content/products, just distinguished with the country name etc. one of the page was assigned to me for optimizing. two or three Similar pages are ranked with in top 50 for the main keyword. I updated some on page content to make it more distinguish from others. After some link building, I found that this page still not showing in Google result, even I found the following message on the google. "In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 698 already displayed.
If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included." I clicked to repeat omitted result and found that my targeted url on 450th place in google (before link building this was not) My questions are Is google consider this page low quality or duplicate content? Is there any role of internal linking to give importance a page on other (when they are near to similar)? Like these pages can hurt the whole site rankings? How to handle this issue?
