I'm looking for a tool like this: http://www.internetofficer.com/seo-tool/redirect-check/ that can check hundreds/thousands of URLs and give me a report as to which ones have been redirected. Does anyone know of something that can do this?

Hey John, I presume you're more interested in external links that are pointing to URL's that are 302'd (temporary redirected) since they are basically missed opportunity along with those URL's that are broken. Finding both are pretty easy to accomplish once you've run the SEOmoz crawl report. Once its done it should show up here. Download the report and open in excel. When open, setup the following column filters based on section titles on row 6: 1. Filter to only show URL's that have external links pointing at them (column AO on my report) 2. Filter to only show 302 redirects (column S on my report) 3. Take note of resulting list which are those pages that have temp redirects AND which have external links pointing at them. 4. Now remove the 302 filter and apply filters for 4XX and 5XX "client errors" to find URL's that appear broken to the engines AND which have in-bound external links. I hope that helps. Cheers, Stefan

I ran the test yesterday using the SEO Webcrawler Crawl Test. The URL. The site I scanned was a site with three pages on the domain and several thousand external links. My goal is to find out if the external links are pointing at 301's or are broken. How do I do this with this tool?

A crawl of a website will do this such as the crawl test tool from SEOmoz. This will crawl up to 3,000 pages and can be found under the research tools tab. Alternatively you could use the Screaming Frog SEO Spider which will crawl 500 urls for free or for £99 a year, the 500 url limit is removed. Both crawl reports will give you detailed info about redirects. Adam.

Why Only Our Homepage Can Be Crawled Showing a Redirect Message as the Meta Title
Hello Everyone, So recently when we checked our domain using a Moz Crawl Test and Screaming Frog only the homepage comes up and the meta title says “You are being redirected to…”. We have several pages that used to come up and when submitting them to GSC no issues come up. The robots.txt file looks fine as well. We thought this might be ‘server’ related but it’s a little out of our field of expertise so we thought we would find out if anyone has any experience with this (ideas of reasons, how to check…etc.) or any potential suggestions. Any extra insight would be really appreciated. Please let us know if there is anything we could provide further details for that might. Looking forward to hearing from all of you! Thanks in advance. SEO impact of redirecting high ranking mirror site to the main website
During SEO audit for a client I noticed that they had over a dozen duplicate websites that are carbon copies of the main website. This was done via CMS platform and DNS. One of the mirror sites has about 400 indexed pages and has Moz DA of 42 and 137k External Equity-Passing Links. Full metrics comparison is attached. I originally planned on doing rel="canonical" on the mirror site but the CMS vendor never even heard of it and is refusing to implement it in the header. My only other option is doing one to one 301 redirects. Since the mirror site ranks well, even competes with main domain for some positions on the 1st page of SERP, what will be the impact after the redirects? Is doing 301's still the best option? Thanks! Some questions on Canonical tag AND 301 redirect
Hi everyone, I'm new here - always loved SEOMoz and glad to be part of the Pro community now. I have 2 questions regarding the Canonical URL tag. Some background info: We used to run an OsCommerce store, and recently migrated to Magento. In doing so, we right away created 301 redirects of the old category pages (OsCommerce) to the new category pages (Magento) via the Magento admin. Example: www.example.com/old-widget-category.html Moz Pro | | yacpro13
 301 redicrected to
www.example.com/new-widget-category.html In Magento admin, we have enabled the Canonical tag for all product and category pages. Here's how Magento sets up the Canonical tag: The URL of interest which we want to rank is:
www.example.com/new-widget-category.html However Magento sets up the canonical tag on this page to point to:
www.example.com/old-widget-category.html When using the SEOMoz On Page Report Card, it pick this up as an error because the Canonical tag is pointing to a different URL. However, if we dig a little deeper, we see that the URL being pointed to
 www.example.com/old-widget-category.html
 has a 301 redirect to
 www.example.com/new-widget-category.html
which is the URL we wan to rank. So because we set up a 301 redirect of the old-page to the new-page, on the new-page the canonical tag points to the old-page. Question 1)
What are you opinions on this? Do you think this method of setting up the Canonical tag is acceptable? Second question... We use pagination for category pages, so if we have 50 products in one category, we would have 5 pages of 10 products. The URL's would be: www.example.com/new-widget-category.html (which is the SAME as ?p=1)
 www.example.com/new-widget-category.html?p=1
 www.example.com/new-widget-category.html?p=2
 www.example.com/new-widget-category.html?p=3
 www.example.com/new-widget-category.html?p=4
www.example.com/new-widget-category.html?p=5 Now ALL the URLs above have the canonical tag set as:
<link rel="canonical" href="http://www.example.com/new-widget-category" /> However, the content of each page (page 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) is different because different products are displayed. So far most what I read regarding the Canonical tag is that it is used for pages that have the same content but different URLs. I would hope that Google would combine the content of all 5 pages and view the result as a single URL www.example.com/new-widget-category Question 2) Is using the canonical tag appropriate in the case described above? Thanks !0

Discrepancies in PA and LRDs reported in different SEOmoz tools
I've noticed a difference in the reported PA and LRD numbers for URLs depending on whether you use Open Site Explorer, or look at the same metrics from within the rankings history (in your campaign set up). I've checked this for a few URLs and what I'm seeing is the reported scores for PA and LRDs is different 9 times out of ten. The PA is sometiomes higher on one report, lower on another, or vice versa. Same for LRDs. I thought it might be because one report was lagging behind and using old data, but that would only make sense if I was seeing an increase in reported LRDs, but it just as often shows a decrease ! Is this just a bug in the campaign>rankings history report or is there a reason for the discrepancies? Moz Pro | | Websensejim0
