Hey there, Hope you guys can help. We get the following error: Nested indexing. Another Sitemap index refers to the index of sitemaps. The thing is that we cant find the error they are talking about. Thanks!!!!

Looks like it worked!. We send 123.000 urls and it only indexed 9.000....Is that because we had 2 sitemap index, and it takes time?. Thanks again!

I would say yes if you also delete the sitemap from the Google Webmaster Tools Sitemap division. Than Google knows what sitemap(s) to use.

Martijn, Sorry to bother you. One more question, should we erase http://cursos.workea.org/sitemap.xml file once we have the the sitemaps that are in this sitemap index in the original one? Thanks
-

Will do! and let you know if it worked. Thank you very much Martijn Cheers!

Hi Eduardo, Yepm, like expected. The first sitemap you mentioned is an sitemap index file. But the http://cursos.workea.org/sitemap.xml is also a sitemap index. Within the Google policies that's not possible. You should directly include the sitemaps of your http://cursos.workea.org/sitemap.xml file in your first and only sitemap index file.

Hi Eduardo, I have just tried to access the http://cursos.workea.org/sitemap.xml sitemap and it is coming up with a 404 error. Are you sure that you have placed the sitemap in the root folder of the subdomain? Try deleting it from the server and then re-uploading it again. Matt.

Hi Eduardo, This topic/ question might help you out, it was asked a couple of weeks ago. And I think it could provide you with an answer: http://www.seomoz.org/q/sitemap-nested-indexing-this-sitemap-index-is-referenced-by-another-sitemap-index Hope this helps,
 Martijn.

Hi Eduardo, Do you have multiple sitemaps that are shown in an initial index? If so, it may be that there is a problem here. Try just making the sitemap's name sitemap.xml, and making sure it is within the root domain folder. If this is already done then you will need to drop us a link to your sitemap to take a look, Matt.

If you provide I link to your sitemap, I could take a look and see what may be causing the issue.

 Hello, Smart People! On-Page Optimization | | Viktoriia1805
We need help solving the problem with Google indexing.
All pages of our website are crawled and indexed. All pages, including those mentioned, meet Google requirements and can be indexed. However, only this page is still not indexed.
 Robots.txt is not blocking it.
We do not have a tag "nofollow"
We have it in the sitemap file.
We have internal links for this page from indexed pages.
We requested indexing many times, and it is still grey.
The page was established one year ago.
We are open to any suggestions or guidance you may have. What else can we do to expedite the indexing process?1

		Virtual URL Google not indexing?
Dear all, We have two URLs: The main URL which is crawled both by GSC and where Moz assigns our keywords is: https://andipaeditions.com/banksy/ The second one is called a virtual url by our developpers: https://andipaeditions.com/banksy/signedandunsignedprintsforsale/ This is currently not indexed by Google. We have been linking to the second URL and I am unable to see if this is passing juice/anything on to the main one /banksy/ Is it a canonical? The /banksy/ is the one that is being picked up in serps/by Moz and worry that the two similar URLs are splitting the signal. Should I redirect from the second to the first? Is it convinient to use No-Index, Follow to my Paginated Pages?
I have a website http://www.naukrigulf.com and it has a lot of Paginated pages on its SERP and most of paginated pages are getting indexed in Google SERP. Is it beneficial to use No-Index, Follow to keep the link equity to main (first page), although we have already used rel=next and rel=prev. If Answer is "yes" is their any harm by using no-index, follow with rel=next, rel=prev. On-Page Optimization | | vivekrathore0

Google is indexing urls with parameters despite canonical
Hello Moz, Google is indexing lots of urls despite the canonical in my site. Those urls are linked all over the site with parameters like ?, and looks like Google is indexing them despite de canonical. Is Google deciding to index those urls because they are linked all over the site? The canonical tag is well implemented. On-Page Optimization | | Red_educativa0

Are there any SEO benefits changing the default home page filename (index.htm) to a keyword rich filename
II'm a newbie. I have a website using the default home page filename: index.htm. I have total control over the web server. I was wondering whether I can get any SEO improvements for my main keyword if I change the default filename with a filename that contains the main keyword, like our-main-product.htm (doing the 301 redirect and changing the server search order, of course)? How to properly remove pages and a category from Google's index
I want to remove this category http://www.webdesign.org/web-design-news-all/ and all the pages in that category (e.g. http://www.webdesign.org/web-design-news-all/7386.html ) from Google's index. I used the following string in the "Reomval URS" section in Google Webmaster Tools: http://www.webdesign.org/web-design-news-all/* is that correct or I better use http://www.webdesign.org/web-design-news-all/ ? How do we handle sitemaps in robots.txt when multiple domains point to same physical location?
we have www.mysite.net, www.mysite.se, www.mysite.fi and so on. all of these domains point to the same physical location on our webserver, and we replace texts given back to client depending on which domain he/she requested. My problem is this: How do i configure sitemaps in robots.txt when robots.txt is used by multiple domains? If I for instance put the rows Sitemap: http://www.mysite.net/sitemapNet.xml On-Page Optimization | | nordicnetproducts
Sitemap: http://www.mysite.net/sitemapSe.xml in robots.txt, would that result in some cross submission error?0
