We are seeing Google Analytic's drop transaction on our site so therefore all the figures are skewed.

Is there a way I can manually add transactions to GA to cover the missing one?

If you're getting dropped transactions for some reason, I would definitely recommend fixing that problem, as opposed to adding transactions manually, but if that's not possible for some reason, you could:

            1. Create a static HTML page that includes your Google Analytics tracking code plus the ecommerce tracking code, manually filled in with the data of the transaction.
            2. Post the HTML page up on your domain.  Let's say the URL would be http://www.yourdomain.com/testpage.html
            3. Visit the URL (one time) with Google campaign variables appended to the URL to set the source/medium of the transaction to what it actually was.  So for an organic Google search, the URL would look like - http://www.yourdomain.com/testpage.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_term=somekeyword&utm_campaign=manual-transaction

That example URL in #3 would set the transaction to having come from an Organic google search.

Still though, best bet is to fix whatever problem is causing the transactions to be dropped, as this would be a pain in the ass to do for a ton of transactions.

            Ben

This was my concern to be honest. Probably best to leave as is.

              Thanks

You could... but it would skew your GA. They would all appear to be from one user. You would have no meaningful metrics either.

The way to add them would be to code a page that generates the sales codes for GA then call it. That would transmit the data to Google.

Whatstuffwherebot user agent messing up Google Analytics

Starting yesterday, Aug 26, 2020, I noticed a new bot crawling our site with user agent whatstuffwherebot. Google Analytics is counting these hits as human traffic, completely throwing off my numbers - yesterday, Analytics reported nearly triple my typical number of visitors. As of now, Search Console only shows data through Aug 25 so I don't know if Search Console is also affected. Is anybody else seeing something similar? Does anybody know what the whatstuffwherebot bot is? I don't get any results when I search on Google or Bing. For what it's worth, the traffic is coming from Columbus, OH, running over Amazon AWS via 278 different IP addresses so far. Also, WordFence (my WordPress security plugin) correctly identifies these hits as bot traffic.

Google Analytics Goals - Button Tracking

Does anyone know if there is a really easy way to track a button in Google Analytics yourself? It seems that most button click goal setups involve some use of tricky code and I'm wondering if there is a much easier way to do this that will allow us to simply setup and track certain button clicks as goal conversions in Analytics. Your help here is much appreciated!

                  Tasks for Google Analytics training

Hi Mozzers, I'm delivering some Google Analytics (Fundamentals level) training, and trying to make it was fun and as interesting as possible... which is quite a challenge when it comes to GA. I was just wondering if you're aware of training tasks, or interactions, I could bring into this kind of training session? The group are particularly interested in user journeys and the effectiveness of content. Thanks!

Tracking 301 redirect traffic in Google Analytics

if I 301 redirect www.mywebsite.com to go to www.yourwebsite.com, how can I track the traffic in Google Analytics that is coming from mywebsite.com??  I don't think that's a referral traffic, is it?

Google Analytics Real Time Not Working! :(

Hello Everyone, Today, the real time feature in my google analytics stopped working. I am able to see that traffic is visiting my site, but not in real time. The real time count is usually at 0. But, there are some instances where real time will come back online, but there will be only 1 unique visitor.  At any given time, our website usually has 20 visitors or so..Has anyone encountered this issue? Where should i start looking for fixes? What are the possible problems? Thanks!

Why is Google Analytics showing index.php after every page URL?

Hi, My client's site has GA tracking code gathering correct data on the site, but the pages are listed in GA as having /index.php at the end of every URL, although this does not appear when you visit the site pages. Even if there is a redirect happening for site visitors, shouldn't GA be showing the pages as their redirect destination, i.e. the URL that visitors actually see? Could this discrepancy be adversely affecting my search performance? Example page:  http://freshstarttax.com/innocent-spouse/ shows up in GA as http://freshstarttax.com/innocent-spouse/index.php thanks

                  Google Analytics and DNS change

Our new alumni application is going be tested at domain uva.imodules.com .  We are going to collect traffic data with a Google analytics account number UA-884652-XX. So going to uva.imodules.com/myPage.html would send its data to Google Analytics with that account number.     Then when it is ready for production we are going to just change the domain name of the application and switch the DNS over to dardencommunity.darden.virginia.edu .  So going to dardencommunity.darden.virginia.edu /myPage.html would send its data to  Google Analtics with that SAME account number.  Aside from having the testing domain data in the same profile are there any other issues/problems we may run into?

Google Analytics - paid & unpaid visits messed up

I guess Google Analytics messes up my paid and unpaid visits. In the list of top 10 kw's sending non-paid traffic it shows 5 very short kw's that we don't rank for at all (checked with RankTracker - we are not in first 50 search results). But these are the kw's we advertise for... One more proof: Webmaster Tools 'Search queries' shows 10 times less 'Clicks' from organic search than Google Analytics. Is there anyone who is experiencing this kind of problems with GA? Is there anything you can do with it?
