what I would suggest you do is Google the average time someone gets a response from dmoz
unfortunately I believe you'll find a lot of people waiting years not just 2 weeks. They are all essentially volunteers and there aren't enough of them to keep up with the work. I would not worry about that directory it had its day and it's a directory after all. You can get much better links using different tactics found here in SEOmoz than you ever will by registering your site with dmoz
I'm in agreement with you to leave it there and see if it works. I hope it does definitely do the Google search. But if it tells you something that doesn't agree with or I'm saying please let me know because I would be shocked.

The Open Directory Project (ODP), also known as DMOZ (from directory.mozilla.org, its original domain name) is and severely understaffed I've heard of people waiting 2 years to get there site listed. I would not bother to be completely honest with you and listen to something very important to you. However I do know it will not have a big effect on your rankings whatsoever all they can really do is change your description of your website which Google still honors for some reason. I honestly would put my time in 2 doing something other than trying to get in that particular directory with the site that is more productive than playing with Dmoz I've literally known people that have gotten jobs there to try to get their site listed and that did new work. What are he benefits of getting 200+ links from DA 40+ non-relevant websites?
I have a client who has an opportunity to sponsor a prestigious national organisation. In return, they will get 200+ links from the websites of the organisation's members. Most of which are DA 40+.None of the linking sites have any relevance to my client's industry.1) How likely do you think it is that Google will view these as paid links?2) Do you feel that there is potential harm in gaining this many non-relevant links in a short time-frame?3) The client wants me to quantify the ranking benefits of gaining these links and calculate a potential ROI. Website Ranking well in Mobile but not in Desktop
Hello guys, Recently we are experiencing good rankings for our targeted keywords in mobile but in desktop the rankings are not progressing. For example, in Mobile, our main targetted keyword ranks in 7th position but in Desktop we are stuck in 11th position. How can I find all the outbound links from a website domain?
I want to find all the outbound links (basically whatever comes in <a>tag) from a domain (say www.abc.com) as well as all the subdomains under it (say abc.com/a etc). Open Site Explorer provides the inbound links from a website but does not provide any functionality to get all the outbound links from a website. Is it possible to do?</a> <a>Thanks in advance. Dmoz.Org listings - how much more difficult can it be?
We have had a quality website for 12 years. We have good rankings and good PR. But for some reason, I have never been able to get listed on Dmoz.org - it's like they're not even reviewing it. It's not like I got a rejection letter or anything, just a no response and we just can't seem to get listed there. It's almost like the editors for our category are just not responsive or just not around. Or maybe they're a competitor and don't want us listed? Questions: 1. How important is it for an established site to get listed? I imagine that dmoz being an authority site, it would still be very helpful for rankings. 2. There are dmoz "submission services" - where they claim to list your site the proper way. They don't guarantee their service, since they obviously can't, and you have to pay either way. Does anyone recommend these services and anyone know of a particular one that is up & up? Any help on getting listed would be appreciated!

Now, there are a number of do's and dont's when it comes to internal linking, but do those rules apply to news websites that have to interlink relevant news stories, primarily based on their relevancy to the user and the value that they have to provide rather than keeping the idea of page rank sculpting in mind?
