What is a good ratio of total links to linking root domains?

Is 100 total links for every linking domain too high? I suppose I could also look at ratios of sites that are doing well in the rankings.

Hello there, Just to be clear are you calculating 'total links for every linking domain' as follows - total links divided by linking root domains? EG if you had 1000 links from 10 linking root domains you'd have an average of 100 links from each domain. If so, I'd say that figure might indicate that you have quite a lot of sitewide links from domains. Now this in and of itself might not be a problem, however if those links are from sites which are off topic or low quality and/or those links look like paid links they may cause you problems in the future. I'd definitely advocate taking a look at the link profiles of other site which rank well in your niche to see if your link profile looks anomalous by comparison. I hope this helps, Hannah

Good question. I have more than 200 links from google, so i dont think is a problem, (I AM NOT AN EXPERT); but i another thing to ad to the question is if those links from the same domain goes to same url or different urls, so what happens? I had a bad link that point like 2000 links to my main url, i send to prevent a disavow file, it is imposible for me to remove.

When conducting a link building strategy does it matter the country the link is from?
We are a UK business and if we have links mostly from US based blogs and websites does this penalise us. The links are from relevant websites and topics. Should we be focusing on .co.uk sites Link Building | | Caffeine_Marketing1

Back link from site with DA of 72 to a website domain. Clicking on the link redirects to our website not the attended one.
 Hi, Link Building | | JIMBO16
I've ran a back link check and discovered a good back link to a site which then gets redirected back to my company's website. I have a feeling that an old SEO agency has purchased a small website which has a decent link back from a relevant organisation with a high Domain authority and then redirects the domain to our website to get the link juice. What are your thought on this? Is this really bad practise and possibly damaging? Thanks, Jim0

Internal Linking - Post links vs Side Bar Links behaving differently
Hi, I have a question regarding the internal linking behavior. My website is www.hindimeaning.com which is approx 3 years old. I have approx 450 posts. Now i have a widget on right sidebar "Popular posts". A widget below my posts "Related Posts". And a simple html CSS menu above the posts (I removed menu around 6 month before so currently it will not show.) I crawled my site with moz crawler (same are the result from google crawler as well) and it shows menus links as internal links. While sidebar widget "Popular posts" and "Related Posts" are not showing as internal links. If we talk theoretically what i learn till now is "every link on a page behaves as internal link". Then why the widget links are not showing as internal links. Thanks, Mahesh Kumar Link Building | | chaudhary04890

How do we optimise links from a parent company to a subsidiary on different domains
So we are the agent for an industrial company. They don't have a great website (well its pretty but doesn't rank) and have 5 product pages with a variety of products on each. We've taken those products and turned them into 50 pages with good on page optimisation. Now they've just agreed to give us a link on each page and I'm trying to figure out what the best text and link will be. As far as I can see there are three options Visit our agent for X region - sending to the home page If you are from X region you can request a sample of product group from our agent - sending to home page and product category page on our site If you are looking for X, Y, Z or P, Q, R in this region contact our agent there. - sending to home page and individual product pages The aim of this is to boost my page authority as 98% of the top 10 in SERPS have pages with zero authority and rely on the on page optimization and DA. Is this the best approach or are there other better ways of approaching the problem. It's worth noting that there is a total separation of control and ownership of the websites. I'm also starting to work with them to improve their on page optimisation and get links from their parent company to increase link juice Link Building | | Zippy-Bungle0

Link Directories - Good or bad?
I've just done a search on open site explorer for a competitors site that has is ranked number one. Most of their highest authority backlinks are from link directories. I just read an article on here saying to stay away from directories that state things like 'seo friendly directory'. Many of my competitors links are from these kind of sites! Will it harm me to get links from such sites? It seems to be working for my competitors.... confused.com!
