I run a price comparison website for a small niche at http://cdkeyprices.com

I am targeting keywords for the specific products I am comparing the price/merchants on. On a typical page I would have a price column, product name, the merchant and a buy button. Buy button is affiliate linked to the merchant.

The product name in the product column is the name from the actual website I am tracking. As such, my keyword was appearing sometimes up the 30 times.

I've took it down some months ago but was wondering if this was a bad move. I was concerned Google would think I was stuffing the keyword. I've only just gotten into SEO the past few months so was not able to  see any changes.

Should i put the product column back up or would it be considered over optimization?

Yea I would limit this to a lower number to few important comparisons not all highest, lowest, and few middle priced, and maybe most know stores. Adding content will help to mitigate this as well. But if its under 5 I dont think that should be a red flag

              Thanks for your replies!

Vadim, what I mean is I get a feed of the products listed on a particular shop. I display their data "as is" which means whatever they name their product on their store is how it appears as mine, in a list with all the other merchants. I have since taken this off as mentioned

For example, previously, if I was comparing prices for a Sony Z1 Camera my product page would look like

Amazon Buy Sony Z1 Camera $19.99

              CameraCentral.com Sony Camera $22.99

              Camera.com Z1 Sony Camera $40.11

              CameraOnline.com Buy Sony Z1 Camera $55

              etc

I removed the product name column in case it was key word stuffing!

              Thanks again 🙂

Removing was probably a safe bet. Why are you considering putting it back?

Does it help your customers? No, then dont put it back. Yes, then maybe, why does it look over-optimized to you?

Can you explain a bit more of what you mean by, "The product name in the product column is the name from the actual website I am tracking. As such, my keyword was appearing sometimes up the 30 times." ? Is it in a product descriptions with significant amount of information that is relevant to the customer? If so, then you can edit the text to make sure your keyword density is below 10% or 5% just to be on the safe side. Unless you mean something else by the product column. Like Peter said adding relevant content to balance the keyword ratio could really help, fundamentally relevant content is great its great for SEO, if that is possible.

                  Hi Mark

In my opinion, yes, to repeat the same product name up to 30 times on a page which doesn't have very much text-based copy which your product pages don't seem to have would appear spammy. Also visually, for the site visitor, to have a product name repeated down a long column wouldn't look great either.

If you want to better optimise your product pages then I would look to increase the word count on the products themselves. With the list of Vouchers on the right-hand side and the About Us at the bottom the amount of repeating content on each page is about equal to the amount of unique content.

By adding more unique content to your product pages (e.g. more info on the games themselves) you will make the page more useful to the buyer and give search engines more to bite into. I also suggest you test out a few pages in Moz's On-Page Grader to help you better evaluate where you can make worthwhile changes.

                  I hope that helps,

                  Peter

                    Domain keyword ranking

                    keyword rankings domain

I used to use Searchmetrics (years ago) which enabled me to add in the domain name into their website, and it would provide all the keywords that rank for it. Does Moz do that do you know? Thanks

Inconsistent Keyword Search Volume & Difficulty Across Tools (e.g., Moz, Google Keyword Planner, Ahrefs, Semrush)

                    keyword difficulty keyword explorer

Hi there, Moz Community! I'm reaching out for some guidance on keyword research discrepancies. I'm currently targeting the keyword "sui gas bill" for my blog, sngplbill, which focuses on information related to Sui gas bills. I've used several keyword research tools, including Moz, Google Keyword Planner, Ahrefs, and Semrush, and each platform provides different search volume and keyword difficulty scores: Moz: No search volume data, Keyword Difficulty (KD) 24
Google Keyword Planner: Search volume 100k-1M, Difficulty (Low)
Semrush: Search volume 90k, KD 31
                    Ahrefs: KD 1 (Very Easy)
These varying results are causing some confusion. Ideally, I'd like to understand which platform offers the most reliable data for search volume and keyword difficulty. Here are some additional details that might be helpful: My target location: Pakistan My Questions: What factors might contribute to these discrepancies in keyword data across different tools?
Considering my niche (Sui gas bill information in Pakistan), which platform would you recommend for the most accurate search volume and keyword difficulty estimates?
Are there any additional factors to consider beyond search volume and keyword difficulty when selecting keywords for content strategy?
Any insights you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Relevant but not-relevant keywords impact to SEO

                    keywords keyword density keyword stuffing

Hello, I would like to know if the selection of individual keywords(that are not primary, secondary or tertiary) are important for SEO regardless of the relevancy to the page topic. I am wondering how much of a contribution a non-P1/P2/P3 can make in terms of SEO? For example it is a product page and I have built my content with P1,P2&P3 based only on the product and its properties itself. Do you think that a content gap for the page could be the production process of that product? So even if it is a product and its properties page, I can add 2 sentences about the production, so that I can drive more traffic by including these 2 informative sentences.? EXAMPLE:
So lets' say my topic is "hair types" (P1) and my subtopics are "Straight," "wavy," and "curly"(P2s) which I used as subtitles. But throughout the page, I am planning to add some relevant but not-directly-relevant keywords here and there since they have high metrics and volumes. For example a potential sentence I can add: "innovative hair products these days can offer amazing results for the desired hair types". It is not specifically about "hair types" but I am using the keyword "innovative hair products" (good metrics keyword) which may help for the traffic... Another potential not-so-direct sentence can be: "For all hair types, the hair damages are common: heat damage, chemical damage and mechanical damage". Would adding this extra sentence where I am not specifically talking about "hair types" (my topic) but "hair damages" and damage examples (off-topic high metric keywords) help me to drive traffic to my website? And how much of an impact would it be?

                    Minor languages keyword research

Hello, I am in charge of doing a keyword research for several small countries in Europe, namely Hungary, Estonia and Latvia.
I normally use the Keyword planner for Google Ads, but for Hungarian, Estonian and Latvian this tools seems to find no results for the keywords related to my websites. For example, in Hungarian the keyword "ajak toltoanyagok" ("lip fillers" in English) doesn't give any results (and yes, I am targeting my searches to Hungary and Hungarian). I have the same problems with Latvian and Estonian. Is there another tool that I could use and that could give me better results? Help! Cheers Luca rONwtZt

Where to start with keyword research for a telecom company?

Hey, I'm a brand's person with no SEO experience, yet I'm in a position where I have to carry out an SEO audit of our telecom company's website. Though our website is up and running for some years now, nobody bothered to undertake keyword research. From the little I've read over months on SEOmoz, I've just done the following: took out keywords bringing organic traffic on to our website and checked our rankings for those keywords on major search engines. My observation is that most of these words are long-tail keywords. Since we only have product/service information related to our offerings, most of the head terms we've used for packages/offers/services pages are branded keywords. My understanding is that we need to rank top for our branded keywords (a must) and try to rank as high as possible for long tail. In addition, we can use those keywords in our copy so that the right page ranks top for the respective keyword. Am I missing anything here? What else do I need to do?

                    Help finding some decent keywords

Anyone care to help a SEO Newbie find a couple of key words that would be easier to rank for for my website that provides kayak fishing information? mysite: yakangler.com The key words that I've identified are as follows: best kayak
                    fishing from a kayak
                    fishing kayak review
                    fishing kayaks
                    kayak and fishing
                    kayak fishing
                    kayak for fishing
                    kayak reviews
                    kayak rigging
                    kayak weight limit
                    kayaks fishing
kayaks for fishing But I'm worried I'm missing the point, I don't see hardly any traffic from most of these. I've really tried to rank for "kayak fishing" but seem to be totally lost in the Google Panda abyss. Any advice on a different word or strategy would be greatly appreciated!
