Guest Blogging Question? How many links in an article?

I am being offered by a blog to have more than 5 links in an article that points directly to our money sites. The blog is in the same niche. This is the first time i am being offered more than 2-3 links in an article. Should i do it? How many links should be in an article so not to be penalized by Google? Does it look unnatural to have more links in an article that points to the same site but different pages? Thanks

I was originally taught by my SEO sensei that you can include 1 link for approx. every 100 words. Still, I wouldn't do more than 1 or 2. You definitely don't want to include more than one link to the same page. Here's a video of Google's (former?) Matt Cutts on that. Be very careful when guest blogging for links. Here is what Cutts had to say about Guest Blogging: I wouldn’t recommend relying on guest posting, guest blogging sites, or guest blogging SEO as a linkbuilding strategy. http://searchengineland.com/matt-cutts-stick-a-fork-in-it-guest-blogging-is-done-182147 If you are guest blogging for links, I would suggest reading Cyrus Shepard's The Rules of Link Building here on the Moz Blog. He states that you should never ask for the anchor text, and I agree. Worry more about the quality of the content and less about the link.

Hey Wayne, Again there is no rule for it but the censorship and keeping the article quality alive is in your hand. I have seen articles that contain 5 links in total and still contain the quality on the other hand there are articles where 2 links does not make sense. You said 5 link all going to one money making site, this sounds fishy to me! Hope this helps!

You are doing guest blogging for the links? Then just 1 will do it to get you penalized. Forget about guest blogging for links, instead, create great content and promote it trying to get a natural link. If you are doing guest blogging, don't do it for the links. If in one article you write it happens you have an excellent article to link to in one of your properties then link to it. But do NOT write so you can insert a link.

Depends on the extent , but I never use more than two links per article. As much a link with the anchor of the keyword and the other "brand link". Greetings !

I use maximum 2-3 links if the post is about 500 words, but i think it is depending on the amount of the text

There is so many articles online talking about this topic. A blog should contain under 6 links which under 4 is the most desired. is not the quantity is the quality of the links. A resource i found is below:

Blog articles on website vs submitting to article submission sites
I had some articles created for a client. The site is on WordPress. I'm wondering if it is best to add the articles to the blog page of the website or if it is better to submit the articles to ezine articles. Or can I submit the same article to both places? Is there a strategy that should be followed generally speaking when creating content for the blog vs article submission sites? The goal is to increase the ranking for target keywords. I realize that the answers could take a lot of different directions. But generally speaking I would like to know, If I have an article where is the best place to add it to achieve better rankings for target keywords? Thanks for the help. Link Building | | rwaynick111

Site Published Our Guest Post but Removed the Link Back
I recently developed a nice article for a career site and they agreed to publish it as a guest post. Once they published the article I noticed they had removed the link back to my site in the byline. What is a best way to approach this situation? Would you ask them to take down the article if they are unwilling to link back to your site? Link Building | | Charlessipe0

Best way to structure a service area page with many locations to maximize internal links to them?
Currently our service area page (http://www.njlimocarservice.com/services.html) very sloppily lists many of the towns we serve in multiple counties - over 50 approx (scroll down). They have been placed that way so there is links to them from one of the subpages directly linked from the root domain. I am now attempting to make it pretty and organized with my designer. I intend to maintain a link to each individual town/landing page for SEO purposes to keep it close to root domain. My questions is how to best structure this. I don't want to list by county because some people don't know what county the town is in. However an alphabetical list may be overkill as there is so many. The other option is to get a search form or dropdown list on there but how will my landing pages be recognized by crawlers if there is no internal links from my root domain? Eventually we plan to expand further so what happens when we add 100+ landing pages? What will then happen to my internal link juice? Thanks! Link Building | | kabledesigns0
