Fewer keywords in title tag?

Hello,
I have a title tag that includes three keywords and has a total of 59 characters. The third keyword is not very important. If I eliminated the third keyword, leaving the first two (for a total of 48 characters), would the ranking value of the first two keywords increase? Does including the third keyword dilute the value of the first two?

I'm sorry I may have gotten it mixed up.
I was thinking of the meta name=title. From what I remember meta name=titles do little-to no affect in ranking. This is mainly because you can always override your with meta name=title in which a user can just easily manipulate the meta name=title to spam keywords, while could actually have nothing to do with the meta title. Thus there is little to no affect in rankings.

I have to disagree with your answer. Title tags are very relevant to rankings. Here is a quote from SEOmoz at http://www.seomoz.org/learn-seo/title-tag:
"Creating a descriptive, keyword-laden title tag is important for increasing rankings in search engines. The screen shot below comes from SEOmoz's survey of 37 influential thought leaders in the SEO industry on the search engine ranking factors. In that survey, 35 of the 37 participants said that keyword usage in the title tag was the **most important **place to use keywords to achieve high rankings."

The title tag is one of the most important on-page factors that Google looks at. Every keyword you have in your title dilutes the value of all the other keywords, so you should stick to as few words as possible, plus maybe your brand name. This is also a good practice from a user experience perspective.

Your keywords on your title tag is not that relevant in terms of ranking. Meta tags are generally used for SERP CTR. You just want to make sure when your site shows up on the search people will actually click to it. Putting multiple keywords don't help your rankings at all.
I suggest optimizing your title tag with the most helpful title for search users.

Commas in title tags
Hello Guys, Thanks in advance for all who can help me with this I am helping a dinnerware company with their SEO. I told them to change their ambiguous title tags for more specific ones. However, they opted to create some title tags with 2 or three keywords separated by commas. I have attached an excel image illustrating their new title tags.. Keyword Stuffing Question
Say your on a e-commerce category page "Shirts" every lower level category has "shirts" in it such as: T-shirt, long sleeve shirt, sweat shirt, v-neck shirt, and so on. Is this page going to be penalized in google for the keyword "shirts" just because it is in the title and on the page a thousand times because i'm targetting words like "long sleeve shirt? and if it is, will the "long sleeve shirt" keyword be negatively affected as well? Canonical tags in the body?
Hi there, Does anyone know if placing canonical tags in the body instead of the header of a page will still "take"? The system we are on means that making an editable header is no easy business and I was just wondering how big of a difference it makes to have it in a different area. Thank you in advance.

Duplicate Title and Meta Description Tags in Shopify with this App
Hello. I'm finding that by adding the Ultra SEO app in Shopify, I now have duplicates of the Title tags and Meta Descriptions. It looks like it's pulling title tags from the Shop info, the product or page titles as well as the Title tag I add in Ultra SEO. The website is 1bigcookie.com. The duplicate meta descriptions are from the text I entered in the meta description field in Ultra SEO. I entered the canonical url code shopify specifies to help with duplicate content, but what about duplicate title and meta description tags on the same page?

Alt tag using photoshop
Simple question i think. Ive started adding alt tags to images using the slice tool in photoshop. This takes up a menu were the last part of is alt tag: This way to add alt tags does work right? I used SEO-browser afterwards and couldnt see the tag. There are maybe other better ways to see if your tags are in there ? Dan L.
