          Hi all,

My understanding of obtaining backlinks by way of blogpost outreach is that it's best to include several outbound links to related high domain websites within blog post copy (as well as a link to the website you're marketing, obviously) such as this post https://www.scoopearth.com/why-should-you-use-royalty-free-music-for-youtube-videos/ or this one https://small-bizsense.com/how-to-create-quality-content-for-your-business/.

However, I've recently read a few articles that suggest that from a human perspective only having one clear link in the copy, such as this post https://www.clichemag.com/entertainment/movies/the-benefits-of-royalty-free-cinematic-music-for-your-videos/, increases the chance of the reader visiting the site in question.

I guess the thinking is that if there's only one link to be clicked on it increases the chances of click-thru, as opposed to the reader possibly clicking on another external link that's only there because of current SEO advice.

So is it best to follow SEO guidelines and include several outbound links within guest blog posts, or is it better to only have the one link to your client's site (to focus the readers attention on it)?

Creating relevant backlinks are good, especially when working on a medium-high difficulty level keywords.

But on low difficulty level keywords, if your content is good enough, you may not need to create any backlinks at all to rank on the first page or even in the top 3 search results.

What has worked for me recently is, (I am sharing this golden info) that when using ChatGPT for content creation, always do proper research. Since the data from ChatGPT is limited to 2021, you often find answers which are not relevant now.

So, get the content from AI, curate it with proper research, try to cover related questions for the same topic. With proper article structure, and good images, you may not need a single backlink for it to rank. I am saying this from my personal experience.

@JCN-SBWD I think one clear link is good, but what's better is making the content useful to the reader.

If your content inspires, educates, or gives a quick win, readers are more likely to press a link to an external site (especially if it is part of your solution).

On top of this, you need to ensure your client's link and service/product offer aligns with the reader's needs, wants, and desires. I'm always amased at how often there is a disconnect here.

In terms of SEO, if you can create content that ranks well, then the traffic will be there... so it's more about how you prime your content to convert. I don't think we need to worry about link numbers in this case.

Blog post outreach for backlinks can be a good strategy for improving your website's search engine rankings and increasing its visibility online. Here what I feel about blog post outreach...

Backlinks are an important ranking factor: Search engines like Google use backlinks as a way to determine the authority and relevance of a website. When a high-quality website links to your site, it signals to search engines that your content is valuable and trustworthy, which can improve your search engine rankings.

Blog post outreach can help you get high-quality backlinks: By reaching out to other bloggers and website owners in your industry, you can build relationships and earn backlinks from authoritative websites. These links are more valuable than links from low-quality or spammy websites, which can actually hurt your search engine rankings.

Blog post outreach can also help you generate referral traffic: When you earn backlinks from other websites, you can also potentially generate referral traffic to your site. This can be a valuable source of traffic, especially if the referring website has a large and engaged audience.

Blog post outreach can help you build your brand and authority: By contributing valuable content to other websites in your industry, you can establish your expertise and build your brand's reputation. This can help attract new customers and grow your business over time.

Overall, blog post outreach for backlinks can be a valuable strategy for improving your website's search engine rankings, generating referral traffic, and building your brand and authority online.

Note: I have recently launched my website myarchitecturesidea.com and I have got some good quality backlink just by outreaching...

@JCN-SBWD I guess I can go with your idea of having multiple outbound links in my copy, as it doesn't cause any harm. But, one thing that you need to understand is that, having one clear link really helps the cause increasing the cilck-thru.
Like in my Daraz Seller Center post, I have only two very clear outbound links. One for the daraz seller center login, the other for daraz seller center app download.

While writing guest posts, you should consider both scenarios. Following SEO requirements ensures better rankings, as search engines use links to determine a website’s relevance and authority. Having multiple outbound links can also help demonstrate that you’ve done thorough research on the matter. You provide value to readers and back up your words.
You can always link to statistics and other authority sources. To focus the reader’s attention on the link to your client’s site, place it in a prominent location within the content, such as in the introduction, or as high as possible before other links. Make sure to provide context and explain why the reader should click on it.

@Asif_EZ I don't see this as a good practice. Google never said that adding natural, contextually relevant and helpful external links are forbidden. Adding external links to content should be guided by the context and needfulness of the links in regard to the content, not by the number of words. Just my 2 cents on this topic, I'm open to critique.

@NaeemGari said in Blog post outreach for backlinks:

This would depend on the post type. If you think the post would help users reach a helpful resource you should consider adding relevant hyperlinks. In other posts, you just want to build authority so it may have no hyperlinks.

Purely from an SEO standpoint, write guest posts for topics that support your seed keywords which would also link back to the money page you want to push visibility in SERPs for.

                        Exactly my thought.

Blog outreach is the best way to build quality links. However, looking for Authority sites is challenging most of the time. This is why I prefer Postifluence for blog outreach organically. It is giving amazing results till now. It does guest posting on automation and helps me to drive huge organic traffic to my site. You can try it too.

Blog post outreach is a great way to get backlinks and traffic. It is not as difficult as it seems. It’s not about how many comments you get, it’s about getting links and traffic. Most of the people who read your blog post will not comment, but they might share it on their Twitter or Facebook profiles. You can go on the other blog’s website and find the contact information of their social profiles. You have to know what they like to talk about and which blogs they usually visit. It is also a good idea to look at their social profiles to see who their most active readers are. Make sure you write an interesting post, engage with them in the better manner. You can read this blog post for more tips.

I believe, based on my experience, the safest strategy would be to add at least 2 external links and 2 internal links to your blog post and make sure it's all related to the topic you're commenting on. In this way, it would not be too overwhelming for the readers. This is actually how I work on my blog commenting tasks on our website https://hisgraceorganics.com/

I hope my shared insight could be of help.

I would recommend adding 1 do-follow link that comes to your or your client's website. If the content length is more than 1k+ then can put 1 additional link. And also you can use some high-quality external links like Wikipedia, Moz, SEJ and more.

It is just my thought 🙂

seo link building blog post outreach blog post backlinks

We do our SEO in-house, and I don't have the time for blogger outreach. Does anyone know of a reputable place where I can submit our content to be pitched to relevant outlets for backlinks and US traffic? I am not in it for someone creating our content; I write it myself and have a degree in the content I produce. I am looking for a place that gets REAL US traffic, not some P.B.N. sites or those where I can create accounts at a post myself. I want real traffic from relevant, reputable blogs or a place where I can have them use my content and find niche sites for me.

Strategies for Enhancing Lead Generation from Blog Posts

                                                content marketing lead form wordpress

Hello Moz Community, I've been running a blog ( www[dot]arrify[dot]com ) for a while, focused on Salesforce. I'm looking to enhance my lead-generation efforts through my blog content. I would appreciate insights and strategies on the following: SEO Best Practices: How can I optimize my blog posts for better search engine visibility to attract more potential leads? Content Engagement: What types of content (e.g., infographics, videos, in-depth guides) have been most effective for engaging readers and encouraging them to provide their contact information? CTA Placement: Where is the most effective placement for calls-to-action within a blog post to maximize lead capture without detracting from user experience? Lead Capture Forms: Are there any recommended practices for designing lead capture forms that encourage sign-ups? Any specific examples or case studies would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!

Is it worth buying an entry on Wikipedia-type sites?

                                                link building content marketing wikipedia

Recently I've come across a few websites offering (for a fee) to research, write and publish an entry on the likes of Wikipedia, Citizendium or Wikitia - I thought this might be helpful when it comes to marketing and link building for a brand or individual. Purchasing guest blog posts is a standard way to obtain a high domain authority in-context backlink, but I wondered if purchasing an entry on one of these human edited encyclopedias would be as effective, better or not worth the money? It costs quite a bit more than guest posting and blog outreach, but on the other hand they are authoritative websites that also include backlinks. Any thoughts would be most welcome.

                                                Page Authority

                                                content marketing page authority

I feel like I'm wasting time by going out and creating backlinks for a new page to increase page authority, especially when I've already got the domain link for domain authority. In your opinion, how important is it to go out and create back links for a page? - am I wasting time I could be using towards creating more great content? Shannon Peel

                                                Backlinks from non-relevant site

There's a forum I used to participate in that allows you to include a link to your website in your signature block.  I have over 500 posts in the forum so that provides a lot of backlinks to my website. However, I recently decided to remove my website link from my signature for two reasons: The forum is 95-99% dead.  Hardly anyone uses it anymore.  BTW, the website that houses the forum is still popular within is niche (articles, etc).  Just the forum appears to be dead. The website and its forum really have no connection whatsoever to my business.  I'm in a completely different niche. However, I have no idea if I've made the right decision. Will removing my signature and the backlinks hurt my site?  Or will it help it since the other site really isn't related to mine? Thanks for any thoughts on this!

Backlinks embedded in posts or backlinks in sidebar?

What's better? A backlink to my site, embedded into a blog post/article? Or a hardlink in the sidebar? The problem with links embedded inside articles, is that when the blog linking to me, gets updated, the articles disappear from first page and I lose the link from home page. How do you deal with this? I also read this: "The best link you can get is from a site ranking #1 for the keyword you want to rank for. It would be great to have the #1 site for a desired keyword linking me even if they are a PR 0 site." Is this right? Thx in advance.

Reposting Blog posts on 3rd party sites

We have a few informational blog posts that are valuable to some readers. We have posted them in our blog but were contemplating posting them on 3rd party blogging websites such as Blogger, Squidoo, etc.. Ideally we would continue to maintain these accounts with multiple blog posts, but would all be reposts of the original blog. These are not half english blog posts just hoping to gain a better Google rank. They will provide value to the readers who might not be finding their way to our website directly. Is posting these blog posts on the 3rd party websites, linking back to the original article and maybe some products that are related to the specific document going to negatively affect our rankings due to the duplication of the content?
