          Howdy, fellow mozzers,

Does anyone know what affects a given company photos show up in the "Search by Photos" section?

I can't find any decent info..

Here is the link to SEL, describing the feature (not even google themselves seem to have an announcement about it). https://searchengineland.com/google-showing-mobile-search-by-photos-option-in-selected-local-verticals-323237

          Thanks in advance!

I’ve also been wondering how Google picks which photos show up in the 'Search by Photos' section. I’ve noticed a similar thing with file storage apps—like how terabox premium free presents different file previews, making browsing through stored photos much easier. Maybe Google uses a similar strategy, prioritizing user engagement and relevance when showing local business images. I’d love to learn more if anyone has insights!

It is better to use simple photos to reduce the size of the file. like this image
Such a photo is much more impressive than artistic photos and photography

                Hey Dmitriik!

The "Search by Photos" feature in Google’s mobile search seems to be influenced by several factors, though there isn't a lot of official information out there. Based on observations and what experts speculate, here are a few things that might affect whether a company's photos show up:

Relevance and Popularity: Google likely prioritizes photos that are relevant to the search query. This could be based on the photo’s metadata, captions, and context within the webpage.

Local SEO and Google My Business (GMB): Companies with well-optimized Google My Business profiles, including high-quality photos and consistent updates, are more likely to have their images featured. Engaging with customer reviews and maintaining accurate business information could also play a role.

User Interaction: Photos that receive more clicks, views, or engagement (like being shared or saved) may have a better chance of being displayed in this section. Google tends to favor content that users find useful or engaging.

Vertical Specifics: The feature might be more prominent in certain industries or verticals where images play a crucial role in the decision-making process, like restaurants, hotels, and retail.

If you want to dig deeper, it might be worth experimenting with your own GMB profile or checking out how competitors in your industry are managing their images.

Thanks for sharing the SEL link—useful stuff! By the way, if you’re into photo editing, check out Remini Mod APK on https://reminimodded.com/ for some advanced features.
For another option, you might also consider the Terabox Mod APK from https://teramod.com/ for documents sharing

Additionally, you could try the Picsart Mod APK from https://picsartdl.com/

                  Hi DmitriiK,

The "Search by Photos" section in Google is influenced by several factors. Here are some key elements that affect whether a company's photos show up:

                  1. Relevance: The photos must be relevant to the search query. Google's algorithms assess the relevance based on the content of the photos and the associated metadata.

                  2. Quality: High-quality images are more likely to be featured. This includes good resolution, clear subjects, and visually appealing compositions.

                  3. Engagement: Photos that receive higher engagement, such as clicks, views, and shares, are more likely to be prioritized by Google's algorithms.

                  4. Local SEO: Optimizing your Google My Business (GMB) profile can significantly impact photo visibility. Ensure your GMB profile is complete, accurate, and regularly updated with new photos.

                  5. User Reviews: Positive reviews and higher ratings on your GMB profile can also enhance the likelihood of your photos being featured.

                  6. Geotagging: Photos with geotagging information that matches the searcher’s location or the location relevant to the search query can be prioritized.

To improve your chances, focus on uploading high-quality, relevant photos regularly and optimize your GMB profile. For more detailed information, you can check the article on Search Engine Land: Google showing mobile ‘search by photos’ option in selected local verticals. And for enhancing photo quality, consider using Remini APK.

                  Hope this helps!

"Avoid Too Many Internal Links" when you have a mega menu

Using the on-page grader and whilst further investigating internal linking, I'm concerned that as the ecommerce website has a very link heavy mega menu the rule of 100 may be impeding on the contextual links we're creating. Clearly we don't want to no-follow our entire menu. Should we consider no-indexing the third-level- for example short sleeve shirts here... Clothing > Shirts > Short Sleeve Shirts What about other pages we're don't care to index anyway such as the 'login page' the 'cart' the search button? Any thoughts appreciated.

Are "Powered By..." type footer backlinks good or bad for SEO?

Hi guys, We're running a software company which is also selling WP themes amongst other things. We've heard recently that footer backlinks like "Powered by BigBangThemes" might do more harm than good. Some clients usually forget to change them - so we want to make sure we stop including them in case this is true. Thanks!

How to maximize CTR from Google image search?

I'm getting good, solid growth in my Google SERPs and Google search traffic now, but I do notice that 70% of my high ranking search results are images and the CTR on those is only 3-4%. All my images are illustrative and highly relevant to my travel blog, but I guess that hardly matters unless they get CTR so people see them in context. Has anyone seen or done any good research on what makes people click through on Google Image Search results? What are the key factors? How do you optimize for click-through? Is it better to watermark your images or overlay label them to increase likelihood of click-through? Thanks, Tony FYI the travel blog in question is www.asiantraveltips.com and a relevant Google search where I rank highly is "songkran 2016 phuket".

                    Researching search volume drop

I am seeing a pretty precipitous drop in search volume traffic (see link). My keyword rankings don't seem to have suffered too much over this period. In fact, my #1 keyword have actually increased slightly in this timeframe. Two questions... Is there some way to assess overall search volume across my tracked keywords (to see if this is just a case of overall searches dropping)? Is there a recommended plan of attack for investigating drops like this - beyond overall search volume, what other data might be important in identifying the cause of this. In short, I'm looking for some logic/structure for how I investigate this, using Moz tools and reports. Thanks. Mark omE1VPc

Rel="self" and what to do with it?

Hey there Mozzers, Another question about a forum issue I encountered. When a forum thread has more than just one page as we all know the best course of action is to use rel="next" rel="prev" or rel="previous" But my forum automatically creates another line in the header called Rel="self" What that does is simple. If i have 3 pages http://www.example.com/article?story=abc1
                    http://www.example.com/article?story=abc2
http://www.example.com/article?story=abc3 **instead of this ** On the first page, http://www.example.com/article?story=abc1 On the second page, http://www.example.com/article?story=abc2 On the third page, http://www.example.com/article?story=abc3: it creates this On the first page, http://www.example.com/article?story=abc1 So as you can see it creates a url by adding the ?page=1 and names it rel=self which actually gives back a duplicate page because now instead of just http://www.example.com/article?story=abc1 I also have the same page at http://www.example.com/article?story=abc1?page=1 Do i even need rel="self"? I thought that rel="next" and rel="prev" was enough? Should I change that?

                    Rel="canonical" and rel="alternate" both necessary?

We are fighting some duplicate content issues across multiple domains. We have a few magento stores that have different country codes. For example: domain.com and domain.ca, domain.com is the "main" domain. We have set up different rel="alternative codes like: The question is, do we need to add custom rel="canonical" tags to domain.ca that points to domain.com? For example for domain.ca/product.html to point to: Also how far does rel="canonical" follow?  For example if we have:
                    domain.ca/sub/product.html canonical to domain.com/sub/product.html
                    then,
                    domain.com/sub/product.html canonical to domain.com/product.html
