Use of title tags on divs for SEO purposes

Hello community,
I recently was asked by a client to analyze a website of a competitor. I did was he asked me to do but when I looked at the source code of the website I found this code:
I changed the exact words into something for privacy reasons, but I never looked at a code like this.
Using a div for an anchor I get but adding a title tag to the div? I never seen that before. Title tags on anchors, yes, using images in divs as background and then adding a title???Does anyone have any experience with a code like this and if you do how does this impact rankings? Does it impact rankings at all and does anybody know of any correlation between the two?

I remember tests being done in the past and title tag in a link does not pass relevance to the linked page, but it could possible add relevance to the linking page
to make that clear, image page A has this link
Then page B may rank for dogs even if the page has no mention of dogs because the link text has passed relevance, but I will not do the same for cats.
But if page B was about cats, then it may be possible that search engines see this link coming from a relevant page because of the title attribute. Probably not, but posible

I'm fairly sure that the Googlebot ignores those
title elements, so I can't imagine this having any positive SEO effect.
The worse case scenario would be that if its got a lot of keywords in the title tag, it could be seen as keyword stuffing and we know that Google can penalise sites for over-optimisation on its content.
However, like I said, I believe the bot ignores these elements. To be safe, just make sure that each tag is relevant and not overdone or stuffed. Keep it natural to the reader and there will be no problem.

When a title parameter is added to a tag most browsers will render it as a tooltip when the mouse is hovered over it. So there's a neat (if possibly annoying) feature of it. Furthermore some CMS applications like to flag everything up with a title when they are shown in Edit mode as content blocks.
When it comes to SEO I'm not aware of it being used by Google for anything other than an IMG or A tag. Happy to be proven wrong though!

I work for a company in the travel industry and we are currently in the process of building out a 360-degree video landing page to inspire travel to our destination. There is some desire from individuals on my team to use the unicode degree symbol ( ° ) after 360 to ensure clarity. We currently have the ° symbol in the Page Title and H1 tag. Does the use of a unicode character adversely affect SEO? Our concern is that it is very unlikely that people are searching for 360-degree videos using the unicode symbol. We also have it fully written out as well. Just want to make sure we won't get dinged for this. Thanks!

Create Page Titles from H1 using Yoast?
I'm working on a site that has 280 blog posts that have either been migrated from an old CMS site or created on the Dev version of the new WordPress site. We've written 280 unique meta descriptions so they don't truncate but it there a quick way I can export the current H1s and then import them into Yoast so they are set as the Page Titles? I've written unique Page Titles and meta descriptions for all the Service and Products page and just want a way to speed up the blog posts as their H1s are really good and what I would use as Page Titles anyway. Any help, greatly appreciated!

Do H2 tags carry more weight than h4 tags?
Of course H tags are key signals for relevance in search. Does an h2 tag send a significantly "louder" signal than an h4 tag?

Genesis WP Theme H1 Tag not properly Used?
I am in the process of redesigning my website, and I have been working on the Genesis framework a lot lately, so I used the Genesis framework to make my new site. The URL is http://protechig.com As I look at the H1 on the page (homepage only, every other page has solid h1s from an SEO perspective.) The first thing that I see is that the home page H1 is a links (to protech's home page). The second thing that I see is the the title text is replaced with an image (my logo) and there is a text-indent:-99999; and overflow:hiden; I just want to know from an SEO perspective if this is okay, and, if it isn't, what I could/should to to rectify it. Duplicate Title Tag issue due to Shopify CMS
Hi guys, I'm a novice really when it comes to SEO, yet have taken it in house for the next year or so, firstly because I have had my fingers burnt twice...and secondly, to allow me to recoup some of the loss from my prior campaigns. I contacted Shopify to find a fix to this issue when I noticed a high amount of Duplicate Title Tags in my SEO crawl. Their response was as follows. Using a rel canonical link will help prevent duplicate content issues with search engines. All you need to do is add this line of code: **<link rel="canonical" href="{{ canonical_url }}" />** ** before the tag in the theme.liquid file. It’s that simple :)** The theme liquid file basically generates the outer template for the whole site, and is only compromised when over-ruled. This all seems a little too easy for me, so I am hoping whether someone can elaborate as to whether this will work or not, as I'm not entirely sold on their response. I was always under the impression with canonical tags, that they should be added to the header section of the duplicate page in question, which refers back to the original page. The code I have been told to add above implies that the canonical tag would be added to every page in my site so the Google robot would have a hard time in finding anything at all of relevance Thanks in advance for any assistance with this. Using symbols in the html title of a webpage
If you a symbol in the title of a webpage will this dilute the keywords in the title
