Buying a banned domain

Hello all,
I've found a exact match keyword domain that I'm able to buy.
Problem is that I'm under the impression it might have been banned by google, currently it is only showing adsense without content.
The site can't be found using the cache: or site: parameters in Google and the PR is 0.
What are your experiences on buying a banned domain and how can I double check if the domain is banned?
This blogpost suggests I should not buy it, any other opinions?

We did go ahead and it worked out fine. It took some time to gain the positions, but it really was worth it.

@baptiste @andy I fully understand that, currently it is juist adsense without content. I might also be the case that the site has never been indexed because there was no link to the page...I'm going to get a link to the page to check if it gets indexed....let's find out...

Don't forget that Google does give you a way to request re-inclusion - but there is no guarantee they will allow it - for a number of reasons.
You also have to think about what others think about the site and if it has a bad name in your particular marketplace - as Baptiste said, this could take you some time, but like a restaurant that has a new chef after the poor one left, you can get this back again.
Just tread carefully.

Multiple K, you will have to dig into SEOMoz tools, various SEO tools to get site history and see what was the site in waybackmachine.
I can't give any advice on the time it will take, this depends on so much parameters, before you buy it and after you buy it !

Depends on the price, if it is affordable you should buy it and work on it to get the reputation back, even if it takes time.
If you want to make visits ASAP, I wouldn't recommend to buy a banned domain.

Should I run my Shopify store on a subdomain or buy a new domain for it?
I'm planning to set up a subdomain for my Shopify store but I'm not sure if this is the right approach. Should I purchase a separate domain for it? I'm running Wordpress on my website and want to keep it that way. I want to use Shopify for the ecommerce side. I want to link the store from the top nav and of course I'll use CTA's in a variety of ways to point to merchandise and other things on the store side. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Consolidating Multiple Domains into A Single Domain
I have a client who's website is an amalgamation of multiple domains. jacksonhole.net is the main domain but the site passes traffic back and forth from the following domains/sites. My questions is, would it it be better for SEO to consolidate all of these domains under the single high authority domain and 301 redirect the rest or is that a really bad idea? XML Sitemap on another domain
Hi, We've rebuilt our website and created a better sitemap index structure. There's a good chance that we not be able to append the XML files to existing site for technical reasons (don't get me started). I'm reaching out because I'm wondering if can we place the XML files on another website or subdomain? I know this is not best practice and probably very grey but I'm looking for alternatives. Hello, Someone approached a client of mine to sell a exact match domain name for a very competitive and high converting keyword. Would this be of any use and what are the best tactics to employ if it is purchased? I was of the opinion that the 'power' of exact match domain names are dying fast but would be interested to hear what people with experience in this think and what they have done with them (i.e. set-up a website on that domain or re-directed it)? Keyword-Rich Domains - Redirect?
Hi, Mozzers- I have a client that has a bunch of pretty nice keyword-rich domain names. Their traffic and rankings are good. They provide legal services in the Chicago area. I have lots of good content that I could use to start a blog using a domain like keyword,keyword-blog.com. Good idea? Currently I have a resources area on their website but feel like this area could be getting a little bloated and some news-related stuff isn't really appropriate. 2 Questions: Should I use one of the decent domains for a blog and build up the rankings, traffic, and link to the main site? Or is this lots of work for little payout? Both sites would be hosted in the cloud. Some of the domain names are related to their name, others are keyword or geo-targeted.
