Business name not showing on Google Maps Satellite View
-

Hi Everyone, When you go into Google Maps and look at the satellite view, you'll notice business names on some, but not all, businesses--like on the roof of the building. Where do I need to go to get this to work for my business? My Google Places pages are setup properly but as far as I can tell there is no setting for this. Is it the Service Area setting? Currently I have it set to "Yes, this business serves customers at their locations." Perhaps I need to set this to "No." Many thanks, Robert

You are very kind, Robert (any your t-shirt sounds cool! hahah) I did think those articles were awesome, but they aren't very well-known. And, BTW, my cup of tea is...a cup of tea, organic with a little maple syrup, please!

OK, Miriam, you have got to stop this! I only have so many thumbs! Excellent, super excellent info. I absolutely did not know this. I owe you a bottle of wine, glass of beer, diet soda, coffee any or all. I hope Robert-o has seen it as it is great. I am wearing my Miriam rocks t-shirt today! Best

Hi Robert-o, Thanks for coming to Q&A with your question. I'm sorry I didn't respond to this earlier - your post somehow escaped my notice. I'm the Local SEO Associate here in the forum. Robert has been giving you some helpful advice. I recommend that you read this 2 part article series on attempting to get a Google Places Label for your business; http://www.iexposure.com/2011/06/16/how-to-get-a-google-places-label http://www.iexposure.com/2011/07/26/how-to-get-a-google-places-label-part-2-update This is the best writeup that I know of on this interesting subject, and while following the steps outlined will not guarantee you a Places Label, at least you can give it a try! Good luck! Miriam

Info in the listing itself. So, make sure you have not used keyword stuffing or added city names in categories, etc. Then make sure you have 10 photos and several videos, etc. I always geotag photos, etc. Get some good shots of the storefront/office. Two or three at least. best

Thanks, Robert - We claimed the listings over a year ago so we should be good there. However, the link you provided also states: "One factor these algorithms consider is the accuracy of the business listing and the richness of the content associated with the listing..." Would the "content associated with the listing" be restricted to the information in the listing itself, the website it links to, citations, or all of these? Thanks!
 Robert

This is not a function of Google Places. These are called Place labels and they are set algorithmically. Having your Places verified helps but doesn't guarantee it. This is from Google: Having The place labels shown on Google Maps are determined algorithmically based on a large number of factors, so there is no way to guarantee placement of your business on the map as a place label. One factor these algorithms consider is the accuracy of the business listing and the richness of the content associated with the listing, so you can improve the chances that your business will receive a place label if you claim it in Google Places. Not all images indexed in Google
Hi all, Recently, got an unusual issue with images in Google index. We have more than 1,500 images in our sitemap, but according to Search Console only 273 of those are indexed. If I check Google image search directly, I find more images in index, but still not all of them. For example this post has 28 images and only 17 are indexed in Google image. This is happening to other posts as well. Checked all possible reasons (missing alt, image as background, file size, fetch and render in Search Console), but none of these are relevant in our case. So, everything looks fine, but not all images are in index. Any ideas on this issue? Your feedback is much appreciated, thanks Technical SEO | | flo_seo1

Google not Indexing images on CDN.
My URL is: https://bit.ly/2hWAApQ We have set up a CDN on our own domain: https://bit.ly/2KspW3C We have a main xml sitemap: https://bit.ly/2rd2jEb and https://bit.ly/2JMu7GB is one the sub sitemaps with images listed within. The image sitemap uses the CDN URLs. We verified the CDN subdomain in GWT. The robots.txt does not restrict any of the photos: https://bit.ly/2FAWJjk. Yet, GWT still reports none of our images on the CDN are indexed. I ve followed all the steps and still none of the images are being indexed. My problem seems similar to this ticket https://bit.ly/2FzUnBl but however different because we don't have a separate image sitemap but instead have listed image urls within the sitemaps itself. Can anyone help please? I will promptly respond to any queries. Thanks Technical SEO | | TNZ

Why are Google search results different if you are log'd into Google or not?
I get different results when I'm log'd into my Google account associated with my website than if I'm not. The same country is occurring. So how can I rely on the google results I'm seeing? For instance my site is page 1 with the improvements I made based on SEOMOZ if I'm log'd in. Yet I'm not on the first 25 pages if I'm not logged in. Technical SEO | | Romana0

NoIndex/NoFollow pages showing up when doing a Google search using "Site:" parameter
We recently launched a beta version of our new website in a subdomain of our existing site. The existing site is www.fonts.com with the beta living at new.fonts.com. We do not want Google to crawl the new site until it's out of beta so we have added the following on all pages: However, one of our team members noticed that google is displaying results from new.fonts.com when doing an "site:new.fonts.com" search (see attached screenshot). Is it possible that Google is indexing the content despite the noindex, nofollow tags? We have double checked the syntax and it seems correct except the trailing "/". I know Google still crawls noindexed pages, however, the fact that they're showing up in search results using the site search syntax is unsettling. Any thoughts would be appreciated!
