Google analytics '"not provided" is driving me insane. Can anyone recommend a half decent analytics program that will not clog up my site. I cant help but feel that Google are devaluing their own product as more and more people switch to chrome and are encouraged to use a logged in account. For me it makes analytics about as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

While you can't see this data in Google Analytics, you can see it in Google Webmaster Tools. That said, I know what you mean; I'd love to be able to see it directly in GA (or some other analytics tool).

Thanks Keri, Good to know that before I start installing different software. I do like analytics. Its just so annoying how Google bangs on about openness and transparency and then starts disguising its own stats, and IMHO totally devaluing GA in doing so.

So sorry to report that it's not going to be that easy. Google isn't passing along that data, no matter what analytics program is used. Webtrends, etc. isn't going to give you this information either because Google is just not sending it; it's not that GA is suppressing it.

I have heard good things about Webtrends but it's going to cost you, and implementation is doubtful if your site doesn't receive a certain amount traffic). I've used Clicktracks a little. Our IT guy loves it and the marketing team prior to my arrival hated it, so there is definitely some dissent there. Woopra is also a possibility, but Google Analytics is way better. I had a painful (and very expensive) implementation experience with Coremetrics. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone under any circumstances. I totally agree with your comment about Google devaluing their own product. I can only think of one reason why they would go ahead with their "not provided" plans....and that is that they are planning on charging for analytics data that will include the "not provided" keywords (and we'll all be queueing up to give them our $$$). I am interested to hear from those using Omniture, with which I have no experience.

Depends on your needs - I use statcounter.com for simple sites . for more full on sites- Look as Kissmetrics (has some very key metrics for customer tracking)

Google Analytics reporting traffic for 404 pages
Hi guys, Unique issue with google analytics reporting for one of our sites. GA is reporting sessions for 404 pages (landing pages, organic traffic) e.g. for this page: http://www.milkandlove.com.au/breastfeeding-dresses/index.php the page is currently a 404 page but GA (see screenshot) is reporting organic traffic (to the landing page). Does anyone know any reasons why this is happening? Cheers. http://www.milkandlove.com.au/breastfeeding-dresses/index.php GK0zDzj.jpg Reporting & Analytics | | jayoliverwright2

How does Google Maps/G+ traffic show up in Analytics?
Hi Moz Community, I've been trying to figure out how traffic from Google Maps (and G+) shows up in Google Analytics and am struggling to find a good answer online. If someone finds a business through Google Maps and then clicks on the website in the Maps listing, does that show up as a referral from Google Maps? Our site shows virtually zero traffic from Google Maps even though we have a number of listing. Two related questions: if someone clicks through to a G+ page from a Maps result and then visits our website from the G+ page, does that show up in Analytics as a referral from G+? Is traffic from Google Maps or G+ ALSO counted as organic traffic? (Would it be possible to accidentally double-count a visit as both organic and a referral from Maps/G+? Thanks everybody! Is there a way to find out who the admin of a Google Analytics account is?
We have a client who has been searching high and low to gain access to the GA account that is tied to their website, but previous agencies keep stating they don't have access. Is there a way to find out who the admins are on a GA account with the tracking number so we can reach out to that person and ask them to admin the client? How does switching to HTTPS effect Google Analytics?
We are looking at making our site HTTPS. We have been using the same Google Analytics account for years and I like having the historical data. All of our pages will be the same, we are just going to redirect from the http to https. Does anything need to be done with Google Analytics? What about other addons such as Optimizely, Crazy Egg, or Share this? Reporting & Analytics | | EcommerceSite0

Google Analytics for example.com and www.example.com
Hello. I have had a Google Analytics account set up to track the property www.example.com for several years. In Google Webmaster Tools, I recently set the preferred domain to example.com (without the www), and we put in a rewrite from www to no-www in the .htaccess file. Should I now change the url of the property in Google Analytics to example.com (without the www), or does Google Analytics see the two urls as the same? Thank you! Reporting & Analytics | | nyc-seo0

Google Analytics: how many visits from country Google domains?
Hello, I manage a site with visitors from many different countries. With Google Analytics, it is normal to see the number of visitors from each search engine. However, I would like to identify the number of visitors from each Google-search contry domain. How many visitors from Google.com? How many from Google.co.uk. And from Google.co.zm? And so on. Anybody knows if this is possible and if yes, how can it be done? Thank you in advance, Dario Reporting & Analytics | | Darioz0
