Am I Wasting my time using pingler.com

Ok so here is the question. A few months ago i decided to join pingler.com and pay for the service as i was using the free service, but after four months now i have not noticed any changes and i am just wondering if i am wasting my time using the paid service.
would love to hear from people who have or are using the service and let me know if this is a waste of time and my money could be better spent elsewhere.

i thank you for your professional comments Robert as always. I am not a big fan of tools and pingler is the only one that i tried, which i am not calling a day on the service.
We update the site all the time, bringing our readers news and gossip but i am going to re-focus some of the stuff that we do.
With reference to Chris Menke comments, i am not sure what the point was in making a comment on this posting and i am not going to give him the satisfaction and talking more about his post but i would like to thank you Robert.

I can assure you I would not utilize snide as a communications tool with the rare exception of if I knew Tim was mean to kids or animals. So, I did use it as a tool to get him to go hmmmm?
The reason is simply that having been at this a long time I see people with excellent intent get screwed by following some "scheme or strategy" down a road simply because they were unawares. Tim has a large celebrity news site that does well and he is not a novice to Q & A so has seen my answers before. I would hope that he understood I was not in the least using it as a put-down.Tim,

My initial thought was a snide 'Well, what changes were you expecting to notice?". But, while I was out searching to see if maybe there was some hitherto unknown-to-me legitimate reason for you to expect something, Guru Fisher beat me to the punch. I guess that's why he's a guru.
Anyway, I didn't find anything that changed my mind and had someone done even the little bit of searching that I just did, there'd probably be no reason to ask the question you asked. Additionally, I'm wondering about the logic of going ahead and paying for a service that may not have been providing you a perceived value as a free tool.

So, what were you expecting to happen? Since you instituted this practice, how much content has changed or been added? If the answer is little or none, well why are you pinging?
In SEO, as in fitness, bodybuilding, etc. there are always 'magic' ways to improve. In about the mid 80's the craze in fitness was creatine. If you take creatine you can jump over a building in three weeks... etc. I do not know if the desire to find shortcuts is a more rooted value in the US or if it is global (yes, I have travelled, but just not sure). However, it is very apparent in all SEO and people seem to grab each item, ride it a short distance, jump off and grab another. So here is my suggestion:
Read all on your site, check for dupes web-wide (copyscape.com), clean those up, insure your on-page SEO is in line with SEOmoz recommendations, create content and compare it to your competitor's - whose is better? If you said yours, send a copy of yours and your competitor's to three people who tell you the absolute truth; if all three say yours is better, put it up!You can take every gimmick, black hat, gray hat, green hat (sorry can't disclose these as they are inner sanctum SEO level and above only) and creatine and I will manage: Content, answering the query, UI/UX, basic good SEO, etc. IMO there is no way you will catch me in three to six months. Yes, I mean it.
That is the best advice I can give you regarding Pingler.com

Using 410 To Remove URLs Starting With Same Word
We had a spam injection a few months ago. We successfully cleaned up the site and resubmitted to google. I recently received a notification showing a spike in 404 errors. All of the URLS have a common word at the beginning injected via the spam: sitename.com/mono

When you change your domain, How much time do I have to wait for google to return the traffic used to have?
Hello. 20 days ago, I changed my domain from uclasificados.net to uclasificados.com doing redirect 301 to all urls, and I started to loose rankings since that moment. I was wondering if changing it back could be the solutions, but some experts recommend me not to do that, because it could be worse. Right now I receave almost 50% of traffic I used to receave before, and I have done a lot of linkbuilding strategies to recover but nothing have worked until now. Even though I notified google of this change and I send again my new sitemap, I don't see that have improve my situation in any aspects, and I still see in webmastertools search stats from my last website (the website who used to be uclasificados.com before the change). What should I do to recover faster?

Using a non-visible H1
I have a developer that wants to use style="text-indent:-9999px" to make the H1 non-visible to the user. Being the conservative person I am, I've never tried this before and worry that Search Engines may think this is a form of cloaking. Am I worrying about nothing? Using Sitemap Generator - Good/Bad?
Hi all I recently purchased the full licence of XML Sitemap Generator (http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/standalone-google-sitemap-generator.html) but have yet used it. The idea behind this is that I can deploy the package on each large e-commerce website I build and the sitemap will be generated as often as I set it be and the search engines will also be pinged automatically to inform them of the update. No more manual XML sitemap creation for me! Now it sounds great but I do not know enough about pinging search engines with XML sitemap updates on a regular basis and if this is a good or bad thing? Can it have any detrimental effect when the sitemap is changing (potentially) every day with new URLs for products being added to the site? Any thoughts or optinions would be greatly appreciated. Using Schema.org: Product or Event as the schema type?
Hello, Most of you heard from the launch of the new format for microdata: Schema.org and my question is about the different types of Schema they provide. Our websites provide an overview of courses, visitors can search/filter training courses and most important: read peer reviews. Until now we formatted (the source) of those courses with the schema type "Product" because it allows us to provide search engines with metadata about reviews via the "Aggregrated Rating". Recently we updated the information about courses, to also provide start dates and locations to users, just like the schema type for: "Events". Because we would like to provide search engines also with both types of data I would like to know your opinion. Schema.org looks like not to support the Aggregated Rating for Events and vice versa for Startdates/Locations for the Product type. And combining the two Schema types also does not looks like an option because we can't put them on the same level like it should be. So what would you recommend to use for kind of schema type(s), are we able to use the 'Product' type next to the 'Event' type and so to combine them? Thanks a lot!

How to use overlays without getting a Google penalty
One of my clients is an email subscriber-led business offering deals that are time sensitive and which expire after a limited, but varied, time period. Each deal is published on its own URL and in order to drive subscriptions to the email, an overlay was implemented that would appear over the individual deal page so that the user was forced to subscribe if they wished to view the details of the deal. Needless to say, this led to the threat of a Google penalty which _appears (fingers crossed) _to have been narrowly avoided as a result of a quick response on our part to remove the offending overlay. What I would like to ask you is whether you have any safe and approved methods for capturing email subscribers without revealing the premium content to users before they subscribe? We are considering the following approaches: First Click Free for Web Search - This is an opt in service by Google which is widely used for this sort of approach and which stipulates that you have to let the user see the first item they click on from the listings, but can put up the subscriber only overlay afterwards. No Index, No follow - if we simply no index, no follow the individual deal pages where the overlay is situated, will this remove the "cloaking offense" and therefore the risk of a penalty? Partial View - If we show one or two paragraphs of text from the deal page with the rest being covered up by the subscribe now lock up, will this still be cloaking? I will write up my first SEOMoz post on this once we have decided on the way forward and monitored the effects, but in the meantime, I welcome any input from you guys.
