What is mT/mR good for In the keyword tool difficulty full report results?
-
So the ratio is MozTrust to MozRank, but what is this good for? What can I deduce from this and what can I use it for?
-
Here is my best guess about what this metric is aiming for: How does the quality vs. quantity of the links to this page compare? If a page has a mT/mR score of around 2, with Trust being 4 and Rank being 2, then you're looking at a content that's linked to from great sources but isn't linked to a lot. If the mT/mR score is .5, with Trust being a 2 and Rank being a 4, then you have a page with a ton of links to it, but few that are from "trusted" sources. My guess is that the latter case might start to look like spam to Google - someone building up low-quality links (blogger comments or even the dreaded linkfarms).
I am not sure what to make of a page where the Trust and Rank are both high and the ratio ends up looking close to 1. We have one page that falls under this category - the Trust and Rank are both higher than the competing Wikipedia entry, but the mT/mR ratio is lower because Wikipedia has a lot less strong content and fewer strong links directly to that page on an admittedly niche term.

Sorry to say Cody, but your answer is not conclusive. The question about the ratio still remains, even with myself (therefor i want to ask it again).
During a small investigation on a SERP, i found the following results.
rank #3 scored
mR: 1.72
mT: 4.99
mT/mR: 2.9 <-- according to the Keyword Difficulty Tool this was the best scorehowever!
rank #9 scored
mR: 5.08
mT: 5.82
mT/mR: 1.1 <-- according to the KDT this was the lowest. My question is, with the individual scoring, rank #9 should have had the best score. So what is the use of the ratio of MozTrust to MozRank?
-
This is giving you a score of the popularity and trust of the links. Links that are more popular and that have more trust will provide you with better link juice than those with low popularity and low trust.
These pages should be helpful for you.

Unsolved Questions about travel industry keywords
My question is regarding my current learning of SEO and keyword research. I have been leaning towards Keyword Everywhere, SEMrush, and Google Keyword Planner for keyword research. What do you recommend? I know you might suggest Moz, but I'm looking for something that will enhance and help me find valuable keywords for the travel niche. If I sign up with Moz, will someone from the team help me with keyword research for the travel niche and my website? I haven't found any resources or lessons specifically focused on travel websites and their keywords.

MoZ vs SEMRush - Keyword Difficulty and Keyword With Low Competition.
Hi, My question is very focussed regarding these 2 tools. Is it correct to understand that MoZ tells keyword difficulty and not which keyword is easy to compete. And SEMRush tells which keyword is easy to compete but does not tell which keywords are difficult to compete? I mean one (Moz) misses the one part and the other (SEMRush) misses the other part. Hope some will enlighten me to the point. Best

Keyword Research and Planning Flow
Hello, First post here. I am a IT infrastructure engineer that does application and deployment work mostly, but new to SEO. That being said, I am a firm believer in demming wheel and defined process/flow charts. I have a website up, built as best practice, its a Magento CE open source Ecommerce store. After some initial research, it seems I really need to define my keywords before I start branding my landing pages and such. So i am going to have to go back and implement the keywords and evaluate. But as I am reading it seems most SEO people try their keywords in google ad words first? Then implement? I am hoping to find some flow or process sheets on how successful Keyword research is done via step by step process and evaluation. And explanations of each. How many keywords to start with per landing page, how many to try and get in the H1 headers, paragraphs, URL. How long to leave keywords in to test? Also, I am a start up company that is competing with the big boys in my market space. I know I cant compete for the big keywords in my market? What is my best strategy for getting any kind of ranking as a small business in a global market? SEO is a mysterious, intriguing thing to me! Very much reminding me of one of my favorite whimsical quotes I will leave you will now, and thanks for reading. -Alex "Invention, my dear friends, is 93% perspiration, 6% electricity, 4% evaporation, and 2% butterscotch ripple." - Willy Wonka

Domain.com and domain.com/index.html duplicate content in reports even with rewrite on
I have a site that was recently hit by the Google penguin update and dropped a page back. When running the site through seomoz tools, I keep getting duplicate content in the reports for domain.com and domain.com/index.html, even though I have a 301 rewrite condition. When I test the site, domain.com/index.html redirects to domain.com for all directories and root. I don't understand how my index page can still get flagged as duplicate content. I also have a redirect from domain.com to www.domain.com. Is there anything else I need to do or add to my htaccess file? Appreciate any clarification on this.

Colors in keyword Difficulty Report
Hi Everyone Two quick questions today 1. How can I find out hat the different colors within the keyword Difficulty Report represent and how can I see examples of how this information can help us with our data analysis? 2. The second question I have is regarding the Term Extractor. Seems when I ran a domain it provided the wrong data. For example, it stated that a certain keyword exists certain number of times within the description and title of the page but when I looked at the source this was not the case so it made studying the competition harder.

Do keywords in drop-down menus count?
In running one of my campaigns in SEOMoz Pro, it was recommended that I reduce the amount of times a keyword is used to 15. On the actual page, there are fewer than 15, but when you include the number of times it is used in drop-downs from the nav bar, the number is 53. I know there is really no hard and fast rule about how many instances of a keyword make for keyword stuffing and the drop-downs only use the term where needed. Without it's use, it would be difficult to navigate the site. Is this a problem or should I focus on more important fixes?
