Autogenerated or inserted by hand makes no difference.
I get LOTS of traffic because I cover some events and some people search for them with a date.
To be certain that Google can read your dates or any other text information, view your page in google's cache.

How important is a Date/Time stamp? Does it make a difference if it is auto-generated by the CMS/Platform or by hand?

Most people talk about blogs like they are the "Silver Bullets of SEO". However, their content is nearly worthless unless you can do one of two things: 1) write fantastic content that lots of other people want to link, like and tweet, or 2) content that is genuinely valuable to your visitors. If your content doesn't measure up then you will not get a good return on your time.

Let's say you have an online store selling tennis supplies. Your store is a bunch of pages which can change a bit with the addition of a new product, but for the most part remain static. If you add a blog and offer a couple quality articles per week, you have a chance to offer articles such as "Beginner's Guide To Tennis", "How to Choose a Tennis Racket", "How to Avoid Tennis Injuries" along with countless other topics.
You would be sharing your wisdom on a subject where you have expertise. When users seek this knowledge by typing in a search query such as "best tennis racket" they may find your "How to Choose a Tennis Racket" article where you mentioned "the best tennis racket for teenagers is the Wilson 1000". Your article would also contain a link to the Wilson 1000 where an interested reader could buy the item.
You would generate traffic for your site that you otherwise might not see. Also, users have an opportunity to ask you questions. Someone could ask "what is the best racket for a 30 yr old woman with a short reach?". You can then engage potential customers in a manner that your storefront site alone cannot do.

Blogs are a well understood format for delivering new content. There isn't anything inherently special about having a blog, you still need to do the basic on page SEO to optimize your posts, and you'll still want to do link building to generate authority.
In very general terms, blogs are recommended for SEO because it encourages site owners to publish fresh content often, and in a format that most web users know how to share with each other. Its up to you to create the killer content that gets the links.

Blogs are great for SEO because you have a platform for search engines to provide fresh new content, the problem with static websites is that the content is always the same. This is where blogs always push new content.
Well the best bet is to have your blog located on www.website.com/blog people make a mistake when they have the blog on a sub domain because you don't have the right flow of link juice.

I have a blog post that has been generating more than 75% of my website's traffic month over month.-averaging about 1000 views a month. Awesome that so many people are finding and benefiting from this post, however it is really skewing my traffic. I have an 87% bounce rate, and I'm only ranking in terms related to this post as opposed to industry related terms. I'm not sure what to do with this blog post. Is it ok to have two blogs for my website?
Hi Pep's The blog for my website is integrated, but does not have a URL that matches the text. The company I use for my site say that it can't be changed. Basically it displays numbers instead of text in the url. So I thought, what about starting another blog as well as the original. Would this have any effects on my SEO, negative or positive? Any advice greatly appreciated! 🙂

Can We Publish Duplicate Content on Multi Regional Website / Blogs?
Today, I was reading Google's official article on Multi Regional website and use of duplicate content. Right now, We are working on 4 different blogs for following regions. And, We're writing unique content for each blog. But, I am thinking to use one content / subject for all 4 region blogs. I have read following paragraph on Google's official guidelines and It's inspire me to make it happen. Which is best solution for it? Websites that provide content for different regions and in different languages sometimes create content that is the same or similar but available on different URLs. This is generally not a problem as long as the content is for different users in different countries. While we strongly recommend that you provide unique content for each different group of users, we understand that this may not always be possible. There is generally no need to "hide" the duplicates by disallowing crawling in a robots.txt file or by using a "noindex" robots meta tag. However, if you're providing the same content to the same users on different URLs (for instance, if both example.de/ and example.com/de/ show German language content for users in Germany), you should pick a preferred version and redirect (or use the rel=canonical link element) appropriately. Blog Sub-Domaine on Other Server, Is This Possible???
My eCommerce cart is BigCommerce. It is not possible to use my domain name to add a blog on there server. I would like to create a blog on a sub-domain, something like: http://www.furnacefilterscanada.com/blog/ Is it possible to host this sub-domain on another server? Host this sub-domiane to BlueHost for example and keep my domaine to BigCommerce. Should a business blog be on a separate site or on the ecommerce site itself?
Hey there. I'm a new Pro member and this will be my first question on the Q&A. Thanks in advance for your responses. I'm the owner of an ecommerce site that sells custom candles. www.prometheancandle.com in case anyone wants to take a peak. I've become somewhat of an expert on all-things-candles over the past 4 years and I am thinking about starting a candle related blog. My question is this. Should I build this blog on the ecommerce site itself, say @ www.prometheancandle.com/blog.php, or should I devote a separate site to answering candle related question, history of candles, etc? At first, I was thinking that the blog should remain on the ecommerce site so readers would have easy access to the shop to be able to purchase products. But then it occurred to me that people who may be interested in reading up on candle history, candle making, meditation & candles, etc., may not want to go to an obviously ecommerce site to do that. I know Google values informational sites more than ecommerce sites (at least I think they do), so that encourages me to lean towards the separate site. Well, I may have just answered this question myself, but I'd definitely be interested to hear feedback and opinions. Thanks so much guys and I look forward to hearing from you.

Should I publish several blog posts at once or stagger?
