Screaming Frog returning both HTTP and HTTPS results...

 Hi, About 10 months I switched from HTTP to HTTPS. I then switched back (long story). I noticed that Screaming Frog is picking up the HTTP and HTTPS version of the site. Maybe this doesn't matter, but I'd like to know why SF is doing that. The URL is: www.aerlawgroup.com Any feedback, including how to remove the HTTPS version, is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

 No problem! I'm not too familiar with secure migrations in WP, but I bet there is some kind of plugin for that.

 Hi, Thank you! Fixing that link prevents SF from finding the HTTPS pages. I use WP for this site. Is there a quick way to redirect HTTPS to HTTP? As opposed to forwarding page by page? Ideally, there is a way in WP (either in WP directly or via some plugin) that I can tell WP to automatically 301 redirect all HTTPS to HTTP. I use WPEngine for my hosting, if that's at all relevant. Thank you again for your excellent answer.

 Hi, Found the source of your issue: this URL (https://www.aerlawgroup.com/sex-crimes.html) has a link pointing to it from a HTTP URL (http://www.aerlawgroup.com/sex-crimes/new-allegations-emerge-in-sexual-misconduct-case.html), which is probably how SF found all the other secure URLs. All of your HTTPS page return 200. If you want to go back to non-secure, those secure URLs will need to be redirected back to HTTP, the same as you probably did when you went to secure. Also, looks like you've still got a couple HTTPS pages indexed: https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Aaerlawgroup.com+inurl%3Ahttps&oq=site%3Aaerlawgroup.com+inurl%3Ahttps&gs_l=serp.3...5577.15088.0.15655.24.24.0.0.0.0.150.1864.19j5.24.0....0...1.1.64.serp..3.0.0.bf5ZiosfHMI

		Google Image Search - Is there a way to influence the related icons at the top of the image search results?
 Google recently added related icons at the top of the image search results page. Some of the icons may be unrelated to the search. Are there any best practices to influence what is positioned in the related image icons section? Thank you. Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | JaredBroussard1

		Displaying Vanity URL in Google Search Result
 Hi Moz! Not sure if this has been asked before, but is there any way to tell Google to display a vanity URL (that has been 301d) instead of the actual URL in the SERP? Example: www.domainA.com is a vanity URL (bought specifically for Brand Identity reasons) that redirects to www.domainB.com. Is it possible to have the domainA Url show up in Google for a Branded search query? Thanks in advance! Arjun Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | Lauriedechaseaux0

		How long after https migration that google shows in search console new sitemap being indexed?
 We migrated 4 days ago to https and followed best practices.. Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | lcourse
 In search console now still 80% of our sitemaps appear as "pending" and among those sitemaps that were processed only less than 1% of submitted pages appear as indexed? Is this normal ?
 How long does it take for google to index pages from sitemap?
 Before https migration nearly all our pages were indexed and I see in the crawler stats that google has crawled a number of pages each day after migration that corresponds to number of submitted pages in sitemap. Sitemap and crawler stats show no errors.0

		Should I use https schema markup after http-https migration?
 Dear Moz community, Noticed that several groups of websites after HTTP -> HTTPS migration update their schema markup from, example : { Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | admiral99
 "@context": "http://schema.org",
 "@type": "WebSite",
 "name": "Your WebSite Name",
 "alternateName": "An alternative name for your WebSite",
 "url": "http://www.your-site.com"
 } becomes {
 "@context": "https://schema.org",
 "@type": "WebSite",
 "name": "Your WebSite Name",
 "alternateName": "An alternative name for your WebSite",
 "url": "https://www.example.com"
 } Interesting to know, because Moz website is on https protocol but uses http version of markup. Looking forward for answers 🙂0

		Images Returning 404 Error Codes. 301 Redirects?
 We're working with a site that has gone through a lot of changes over the years - ownership, complete site redesigns, different platforms, etc. - and we are finding that there are both a lot of pages and individual images that are returning 404 error codes in the Moz crawls. We're doing 301 redirects for the pages, but what would the best course of action be for the images? The images obviously don't exist on the site anymore and are therefore returning the 404 error codes. Should we do a 301 redirect to another similar image that is on the site now or redirect the images to an actual page? Or is there another solution that I'm not considering (besides doing nothing)? We'll go through the site to make sure that there aren't any pages within the site that are still linking to those images, which is probably where the 404 errors are coming from. Based on feedback below it sounds like once we do that, leaving them alone is a good option. Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | garrettkite0

		Multiple 301 redirects for a HTTPS URL. Good or bad?
 I'm working on an ecommerce website that has a few snags and issues with it's coding. They're using https, and when you access the website through domain.com, theres a 301 redirect to http://www.domain.com and then this, in turn, redirected to https://www.domain.com. Would this have a deterimental effect or is that considered the best way to do it. Have the website redirect to http and then all http access is redirected to the https URL? Thanks Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | jasondexter0

		Why is Google Displaying this image in the search results?
 Hi i'm looking at advice on how to remove or change a particular image Google is displaying in the search results. I have attached a screenshot. From the first look of it, i assumed the image would be related and be on the dealers Google+ Local Page: https://plus.google.com/118099386834104087122/about?hl=en But there are no photos. The image seems to be coming from the website. Is there a way to stop Google from displaying this image or making them display a totally different image. Thanks, Chris XzfsnUy.png Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | Mattcarter080

		Why does my home page show up in search results instead of my target page for a specific keyword?
 I am using Wordpress and am targeting a specific keyword..and am using Yoast SEO if that question comes up.. and I am at 100% as far as what they recommend for on page optimization. The target html page is a "POST" and not a "Page" using Wordpress definitions. Also, I am using this Pinterest style theme here http://pinclone.net/demo/ - which makes the post a sort of "pop-up" - but I started with a different theme and the results below were always the case..so I don't know if that is a factor or not. (I promise .. this is not a clever spammy attempt to promote their theme - in fact parts of it don't even work for me yet so I would not recommend it just yet...) I DO show up on the first page for my keyword.. however.. instead of Google showing the page www.mywebsite.com/this-is-my-targeted-keyword-page.htm Google shows www.mywebsite.com in the results instead. The problem being - if the traffic goes only to my home page.. they will be less likely to stay if they dont find what they want immediately and have to search for it.. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | chunkyvittles0
