Where can I find where to submit my website to?

Hi there,
I am currently reading and learning about backlinks and I find myself stumped as to where I can submit my website to. I understand the logic's and methods for backlinks but just don't know how to find good quality websites to submit my website to.
I appreciate any help in advance.

Hi Jay,
When you say 'submit your website to" be careful you don't fall foul of Google's guidelines See: Link Schemes: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/66356?hl=en) otherwise, all your efforts could be in vain.
Don't be tempted to submit your site to each and every blog or directory which has a dofollow link in the hope of a quick boost to your rankings (which, for many, was the "go to" method to fast-track their way to the top, a few years back). Instead, spend some finding the 'influencers' within your niche and take some time to build relationships with them and see if you can get them to engage with you, to help you promote your product or service. A great tool to help you find these 'influencers' is BuzzStream: http://www.buzzstream.com.

Hi Jay,
I would be very careful with your links. You can add your site to some business directories for a start but make sure you check them before you place the link. A good article on inbound links is:

Backlinks from subdomain, can it hurt ranking?
I just started doing an SEO audit and noticed I have 40,000 some odd back links from an OLD version of our site that has been moved to a subdomain. The back links are for articles that already exist on our main site. I don't think Google is picking it up as duplicate content because that site isn't being crawled anymore. Could this hurt us SEO wise? I plan on removing the site, but how long after it's been removed should those back links disappear?

Website Ranking well in Mobile but not in Desktop
Hello guys, Recently we are experiencing good rankings for our targeted keywords in mobile but in desktop the rankings are not progressing. For example, in Mobile, our main targetted keyword ranks in 7th position but in Desktop we are stuck in 11th position. Backlinks: What are they really and how can I create them.
I am relatively new to the SEO world, and I want to build backlinks linking to our main site. My preferred way to create backlinks is by adding them in my blog comments or forum responses. I am an active participant in a large number of blogs/forums related to our field and I would like to add relevant backlinks in the comments/answers I post. I originally thought that a backlink was just a link, but none of the links that I have added to blogs like that have been recognized as backlinks. https://www.dynaread.com/ Why is this so? I know now that good backlink would be something like: Dynaread is a science based dyslexia remediation program for older struggling readers. However I have no idea how to add this types of links to blog comments or forum pages where there is no link tool. Do I have to do something with HTML? Please explain briefly what a backlink really is and most importantly how I can create them. Thank you in advance for your help! Dmoz.Org listings - how much more difficult can it be?
We have had a quality website for 12 years. We have good rankings and good PR. But for some reason, I have never been able to get listed on Dmoz.org - it's like they're not even reviewing it. It's not like I got a rejection letter or anything, just a no response and we just can't seem to get listed there. It's almost like the editors for our category are just not responsive or just not around. Or maybe they're a competitor and don't want us listed? Questions: 1. How important is it for an established site to get listed? I imagine that dmoz being an authority site, it would still be very helpful for rankings. 2. There are dmoz "submission services" - where they claim to list your site the proper way. They don't guarantee their service, since they obviously can't, and you have to pay either way. Does anyone recommend these services and anyone know of a particular one that is up & up? Any help on getting listed would be appreciated!

What is the purpose of submitting your blog articles to directories?
I was wondering what the purpose of submitting your blog articles to directories are. Doesn't it require enough "points" or "+1's" for it to become a "do-follow" link? People on the forum talk about automating directory submission, can anyone recommend a good software for this? I've been hearing that Google Penalizes you for article submission because it looks like spam?

Where/should I post my press release/articles on my own website?
I have started a long-term article marketing campaign and press release distribution. I will have about 4 articles and press releases in total every month. Although the press releases will not be self-promotional, sometimes they will be talking about a certain product that we unveil. The question is, due to the high quality of these press releases, should I put them on my website as well as publish them on third party websites? If so, because they target a specific service/product which we already have a dedicated page on our website, wouldn't that put Google in the position of choosing between the two pages? I was thinking to put them on my blog and link internally from there with the keywords that I target on those pages as anchor text. The same question for articles. Any suggestions?
