H Tags in Menu

I am checking the H2 tags on this page https://www.key.co.uk/en/key/dollies-load-movers-door-skates
I have noticed my dev team have implemented H2's on the categories in the menu. Will this completely confuse Google as to what that page is about?
In my opinion those links shouldn't be heading tags at all

Concentrate on the on-page content.
If H1 and H2 are properly aligned where H1 virtually copies the page title and H2 are reserved for headings just ensure that you write contextually rich content on the page. The more the better but don't keyword stuff or ramble on for nothing. A shorter page which is engaging, with images and maybe video is better than a long rambling piece that people will bounce off.

It's worth tidying up, but H-Tags aren't as powerful as they used to be (especially h2 and lower). Best practices are always worth following, but when this happened to us I know I stressed it more than I should have.
Titles, meta descriptions, and body content are all more worthwhile projects you can control that will impact rankings more, but for peace of mind I'd have your dev team understand that H-tags aren't to be used as an easy way to style some text.

I agree with you that those nav links shouldn't be h2 tags, but don't worry about whether it might "completely confuse google." Even from 2009, google was great about processing pages with less-than-stellar syntax. We had a similar issue regarding H-tags on our site that we thought was more concerning than it was. It might be a bigger problem if they were all H1s, but I wouldn't stress it as a website breaking issue that must be fixed immediately (though I would, like you, prefer to correct it).

I have to agree with you there. The H1 should be a header for what is visible in the on-page content. These clearly are not. It won't confuse Google as it takes little notice of H2 but for me it's just a bad use of page elements.

Meta Robot Tag:Index, Follow, Noodp, Noydir
When should "Noodp" and "Noydir" meta robot tag be used? I have hundreds or URLs for real estate listings on my site that simply use "Index", Follow" without using Noodp and Noydir. Should the listing pages use these Noodp and Noydr also? All major landing pages use Index, Follow, Noodp, Noydir. Is this the best setting in terms of ranking and SEO. Thanks, Alan

Should I be using meta robots tags on thank you pages with little content?
I'm working on a website with hundreds of thank you pages, does it make sense to no follow, no index these pages since there's little content on them? I'm thinking this should save me some crawl budget overall but is there any risk in cutting out the internal links found on the thank you pages? (These are only standard site-wide footer and navigation links.) Thanks!

H3 Tags - Should I Link to my content Articles- ? And do I have to many H3 tags/ Links as it is ?
Hello All, On my ecommerce landing pages, I currently have links to my products as H3 Tags. I also have useful guides displayed on the page with links useful articles we have written (they currently go to my news section). I am wondering if I should put those article links as additional H3 tags as well for added seo benefit or do I have to many tags as it is ?. Alt tag for src='blank.gif' on lazy load images
I didn't find an answer on a search on this, so maybe someone here has faced this before. I am loading 20 images that are in the viewport and a bit below. The next 80 images I want to 'lazy-load'. They therefore are seen by the bot as a blank.gif file. However, I would like to get some credit for them by giving a description in the alt tag. Is that a no-no? If not, do they all have to be the same alt description since the src name is the same? I don't want to mess things up with Google by being too aggressive, but at the same time those are valid images once they are lazy loaded, so would like to get some credit for them. Thanks! Ted

Duplicate Title tags even with rel=canonical
Hello, We were having duplicate content in our blog (a replica of each post automatically was done by the CMS), until we recently implemented a rel=canonical tag to all the duplicate posts (some 5 weeks ago). So far, no duplicate content were been found, but we are still getting duplicate title tags, though the rel=canonical is present. Any idea why is this the case and what can we do to solve it? Hi Guys, Just after some clarification - I have recently been told that by placing content in <aside></aside> tags spiders will ignore the content. Is this the case? I always thought that content placed in these tags was to identify related content. To put the query into some context, we have the same content on multiple pages on a site, which is relevant to the main body copy - but could throw up duplicate content issues... Thanks in advance.

Should I prevent Google from indexing blog tag and category pages?
I am working on a website that has a regularly updated Wordpress blog and am unsure whether or not the category and tag pages should be indexable. The blog posts are often outranked by the tag and category pages and they are ultimately leaving me with a duplicate content issue. With this in mind, I assumed that the best thing to do would be to remove the tag and category pages from the index, but after speaking to someone else about the issue, I am no longer sure. I have tried researching online, but there isn't anything that provided any further information. Please can anyone with any experience of dealing with issues like this or with any knowledge of the topic help me to resolve this annoying issue. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Paul
