@WebMarkets To track internal links and identify orphan pages on a website, you can follow these steps:

                      • Use a website crawler: Website crawling programmes such as Screaming Frog, Xenu Link Sleuth, or DeepCrawl can assist you in analysing the structure of your website and identifying internal linkages. These programmes will crawl your website, extract any internal links, and generate a detailed report for you.
                      • Examine the crawl report: Once the crawling is finished, go over the generated report. Look for internal links in sections or columns. This information will assist you in understanding how pages are linked internally.
                      • Orphan pages are those that do not have any internal links going to them. Look for pages with no incoming internal links in the crawl report. These are most likely orphan pages.
                      • Take action on orphan pages: Once the orphan pages have been found, you have a few alternatives. You may increase the visibility and connection of these orphans by adding internal links from relevant pages. Alternatively, if orphan pages no longer serve a purpose, you may elect to eliminate or consolidate them.
                      • Examine your internal link strategy: Examine your website's overall structure and navigation. Check that vital pages are properly connected from relevant parts and that no critical pages are separated from the rest of the site.
                      • Repeat the process on a regular basis: It's a good idea to analyse your website's internal links on a regular basis and identify any newly produced orphan pages. This manner, you can keep your website structure connected and improve user experience.

Remember that different website crawler programmes have varied features and capabilities. Investigate the documentation and functionalities of the programme you intend to use for crawling and analysing the internal links on your website.

@WebMarkets Yes, Moz can track internal links per page. To identify orphan pages, you can utilize Moz's Site Crawl feature, which crawls your website and provides a comprehensive report of internal links. By analyzing the data, you can identify pages that lack incoming internal links, indicating potential orphan pages. This helps you understand the link structure and optimize your website's internal linking for better SEO performance.
Here are some concrete steps to track internal links and identify orphan pages using Moz:
Set up a Moz Pro account or log in to your existing account.
Navigate to the "Site Crawl" section in the Moz Pro dashboard.
Enter your website's URL and start a crawl.
Once the crawl is complete, access the crawl report for your website.
Look for the "Internal Links" section or filter within the report.
Analyze the internal links data to identify pages with low or no incoming internal links.
Focus on pages with no incoming internal links, as these are potential orphan pages.
Take note of the URLs of these orphan pages for further investigation.
Review your website's internal linking structure and consider linking orphan pages to relevant sections of your site.
Repeat the crawl periodically to track changes and properly address orphan pages.

@WebMarkets Moz has the capability to track internal links per page as part of its SEO tools. Internal links are links that connect different pages within a website. Moz provides features like the Moz Link Explorer to analyze and optimize internal links. This tool allows users to input a URL and obtain information about the internal links pointing to that page, including the number of links, their source pages, anchor text, and other relevant data. By monitoring and optimizing internal links with Moz, website owners can enhance their website's structure, usability, and SEO performance.

                                    PA and DA for Homepage

page authority domain authority internal linking homepage

I've been looking at the PA and DA scores for the homepage of websites we have built and have been comparing this to competitors. What I'm finding is that the PA score is always higher than the DA, however on competitors sites the PA is much higher in relation to the DA. What could be the reason for this? For example, some of our website homepages may have PA / DA scores such as the following: Website #1: PA37 DA25 (PA:DA = 1.48)
                                    Website #2: PA31 DA21 (PA:DA = 1.47) However competitors often have figures like this: Website #3: PA40 DA21 (PA:DA 1.9)
Website #4: PA 25 DA 11 (PA:DA 2.27) I even saw one website with the following scores: Website #5: PA36 DA5 (PA:DA 7.2) How do you explain such a high Page Authority in relation to the domain authority for that site? When I look at the scores for our websites I often feel that the DA is at a good level, but the PA for the homepage doesn't seem as high as it could be compared to competitors. My initial thought was that maybe we had a lot of backlinks to other pages on the website (not the homepage) but this is not the case at all - pretty much all our backlinks are to the homepage. Could it be to do with internal linking structure? Any other ideas? Many thanks in advance for any help with this.

How Long Do The Link Tracking Lists Take To Update?

Hi, How long do the link tracking lists take to update? It's been over a week and each is still showing a red cross. The reason I created it was because I migrated to a new domain name and Moz is still showing the backlinks on the old property and not the new (the domain swap happened in December 2020). I can see that Ahrefs has picked up all of the links - Both new and redirected - but Moz has not. When will this be reflected in Moz as it has already been over three months? Is there a reason for the above questions? I appreciate any response here. 🙂

Source page showsI have 2 h1 tags on my page. I can only find one.

When I grade my page it says I have more than one h1 tag. I view the source page and it shows there are two h1 headings with the same wording. If I delete the one h1 heading I can find, the page source shows I have deleted both of them. I don't know how to get to the other heading to delete it. And I'm off page one of google! Can anybody help? Clay Stephens

                                    Pages with URL Too Long

Hello Mozzers! MOZ keeps kindly telling me the URLs are too long. However, this is largely due to the structure of E-commerce site, which has to include 'brand' 'range' and 'products' keyword. For example -
https://www.choicefurnituresuperstore.co.uk/Devonshire-Rustic-Oak-Bedside-Cabinet-1-Drawer-p40668.html MOZ recommends no more than 75 characters. This means we have 25-30 characters for both the brand name and product name. Questions:
If it is an issue, how to fix it on my site?
If it's not an issue, how can we turn off this alert from MOZ?
Anyone know how big an issue URLs are as a ranking factor? I thought pretty low.

Moz & Xenu Link Sleuth unable to crawl a website (403 error)

It could be that I am missing something really obvious however we are getting the following error when we try to use the Moz tool on a client website. (I have read through a few posts on 403 errors but none that appear to be the same problem as this) Moz Result Title 403 : Error Meta Description 403 Forbidden Meta Robots_Not present/empty_ Meta Refresh_Not present/empty_ Xenu Link Sleuth Result Broken links, ordered by link: error code: 403 (forbidden request), linked from page(s): Thanks in advance!

                                    Moz WordPress Plugin?

WordPress is currently 18% of the Internet.  Given its huge footprint, wouldn't it make sense for Moz to develop a WP plugin that can not only report site metrics, but help fix and optimize site structure directly from within the site? Just curious - I can't be the only one who wonders if I'm implementing Moz findings/recommendations correctly given the myriad of WP SEO plugins, authors, implementations.

Page Authority is the same on every page of my site

I'm analyzing a site and the page authority is the exact same for every page in the site. How can this be since the page authority is supposed to be unique to each page?
