Hi all SEO experts, if a website is brand new, so published in the last 3 months- new domain name and website design.

We have rebranded recently, using a new domain as entered new business partnership, there doesn’t seem to be much guidance on this at all, from various SEO websites, so our question is would you delay publishing new blog posts / content marketing as frequently because the company website is brand new?

So would SEO’s decrease the frequency of publication of blog posts, because the website is new? Or perhaps it does not matter, and would still post every week as you would if the website has been live for a long time?

So, in nutshell, what we are wondering is, is the “Google Sandbox” still in use?

@stefangatti Hi this is a great reply, the old website was Ryan C Walsh. we are now Walsh and Partners I want to grow the SEO agency, so calling it just my name, made me look like a SEO consultant, but we want to expand now into a large marketing agency

@Ryan07 Officially, Google has never confirmed the existence of a Sandbox. In fact, Google representatives have explicitly stated that there's no such thing as a "Sandbox effect." However, many SEOs believe they've observed a period of lower rankings for new websites, leading to continued speculation.

Launching a new website poses unique SEO considerations. While the concept of the "Google Sandbox" is debated, I think that focusing on quality over quantity in the initial months is wise. Consistency matters more than frequency, so just maintain a steady pace in content creation and be patient.

As mentioned in the previous comment, Reddit can be a good source to get some tips. I find r/SEO quite helpful, for example. I saw members recommending getting quality backlinks to people in a situation similar to yours. And I agree it is a great strategy, and a good long-term investment if you decide to hire a professional to do it for you. There are many small things you can do to increase your online presence. For example, if you haven't already, create an electronic business card and optimize it with your keywords. Include location-specific information to boost local SEO efforts. Add your card to your email signature. All these add up and have positive impacts on SEO.

Out of interest, what have you done with the old domain?
If the two are directly related and the old one has been discontinued it would be worthwhile adding redirects. Either from specific URLs or the entire domain.

Exactly, I wouldn’t worry about posting frequency at any stage of a website’s lifecycle. The key, especially going into a turbulent 2024 for SEO, is going to be focussing on creating actually valuable content for your end-users.

As long as your website contains all the information necessary for users to make an informed decision about whatever niche you operate in (it’s hard to be more specific without knowing what your website does).

I don’t think we can actually know this for sure.

There’s no concrete evidence that Google “sandboxes” new websites. Either way, I wouldn’t worry about it. If it does, writing and publishing quality content should never be seen as spammy.

As Ahrefs say: “As a new website owner, it is crucial to (1) remain patient and (2) focus on creating high-quality content and (3) building links. Over time, your website will eventually start to rank well in Google search results.”

Regarding frequency, the most important thing to focus on is your end-user. If publishing content daily/weekly/monthly is what they need then go right ahead. Otherwise I wouldn't make frequency my highest priority when it comes to content marketing for organic search.
