Long product descriptions can be great, but make sure they’re optimized with relevant keywords and structured for readability. Check if your content aligns with user intent and consider improving internal linking. Regularly update and analyze your content to better meet search engine requirements. Good luck!

                    Tips for Optimizing Product Descriptions
                    Use Keywords Strategically:

Identify the primary and secondary keywords relevant to your products.
Integrate these keywords naturally into your descriptions, titles, and meta tags.
                    Write for Your Audience:

Focus on the benefits and unique features of your products.
Use clear, concise, and engaging language that speaks directly to your target audience.
                    Improve Readability:

Break up long descriptions into smaller paragraphs.
Use bullet points, headers, and lists to make the content more scannable.
                    Include High-Quality Images and Videos:

Use clear, high-resolution images and videos that showcase your products.
Add alt text with relevant keywords for each image.
                    Optimize Meta Descriptions and Titles:

Craft compelling meta descriptions and titles that include your primary keywords.
Keep them within the recommended length (50-60 characters for titles and 150-160 characters for meta descriptions).
                    Leverage User Reviews and Testimonials:

Incorporate genuine customer reviews and testimonials to build trust and credibility.
Highlight positive feedback and address any common concerns.
                    Internal Linking:

Link related products and categories within your descriptions to keep users engaged.
Use descriptive anchor text for these links.
                    Regular Updates:

Update your product descriptions regularly to keep the content fresh and relevant.
Add new information, customer reviews, and updated keywords as needed.

Lengthy product descriptions are great for informing customers, but for SEO, there's a balance. Here are some suggestions to improve your website's SEO for Sahrai's long product descriptions:

                          • Use bullet points, bold text, or subheadings to highlight key features and benefits. This lets search engines and users quickly grasp the essence of your product.

                          • Research keywords potential customers might use to find your products. Include these keywords throughout the descriptions, but prioritize readability over keyword stuffing.

                          • Break up long paragraphs with white space and images to make your descriptions scannable and engaging.

                          • Include relevant keywords in your product page titles and H1 headings to signal search engines and users about your product's content.

By implementing these tips, you can improve your website's SEO and user experience, attracting more organic traffic from Google.

Breadcrumbs and multiple parent categories on Shopify site - what's the answer?

navigation breadcrumb trail breadcrumbs ux seo

Hi Mozzers... I'm working on a Shopify site - it is polyhierarchical with multiple parent categories for each product. Not uncommon with Shopify because of issues with faceted nav on that platform. The problem is that defining ONE breadcrumb trail back to the homepage, it works against UX, as people will be wanting to go back to the previous search results, primarily, to revisit the parent category specific search (this is an ecommerce site with a huge number of products). So heaven knows what to do. I could do: (1) Home / Product to avoid the issue. Not very good for UX though as where is the previous category page (where more than likely a product search was carried out). (2) Home / Specific Previous Search Page - Parent Category / Product (if that is possible without upsetting SEO performance - I don't think it is - but any advice is welcome) (3) or I could define one specific path and also include: Return to Previous Page / Search as a separate clickback link outside of but adjacent to the breadcrumb trail (I think Macy's used to do that): https://baymard.com/blog/ecommerce-breadcrumbs The problem with defining a specific path is it flys in the face of UX in the context of this site! Although of course defining one path seems to be best practice for SEO. Any help would be gratefully received! Thanks a million, Luke

What are the SEO implications of high quality backlinks from US-based websites to UK-based websites?

Hi everyone, quick question I hope someone could help me with: We're representing a client based in the UK. As part of their overall strategy we've been linkbuilding. At the moment, about 80/90% of the links we've gained come from UK-based sites, with 10/20% coming from US-based websites. The US based websites are very good (think New York Times and genuine, relevant blogs with good readerships). An external search analyst/consultant has contacted the client to say that the US links will be harming the site, because the links are from websites in the US and not the UK. We believe that if 80/90% of the links were from the US this could indeed cause harm as it could indicate to search engines that our client is in the US when it's not (which might compromise their chance of ranking in .co.uk versions of search engines) however because it's only 10/20%, and because the linking sites are very good, we believe that they will getting all of the benefits of the positive metrics without any meaningful negatives. We just wanted to get a few opinions on this to see if people think that we're mistaken, and would be glad to hear any opinions contrary to our own.

Back link from site with DA of 72 to a website domain. Clicking on the link redirects to our website not the attended one.

                              Hi,
I've ran a back link check and discovered a good back link to a site which then gets redirected back to my company's website. I have a feeling that an old SEO agency has purchased a small website which has a decent link back from a relevant organisation with a high Domain authority and then redirects the domain to our website to get the link juice. What are your thought on this? Is this really bad practise and possibly damaging? Thanks, Jim

More than one link on an external website

Just wanted to clarify my understanding of this... I'm of the understanding that if an external site has more than one link going to your site, then it is only the one link that passes value. If this is the case.... Which is the link that passes value (i.e the first link established or the link that, all factors being considered, is the most valuable for passing authority?) If a second link established on an external website comes from and goes to a different webpage than the first (and is done for the purposes of targeting and boosting a different keyword category/theme), is this then a beneficial practice? If multiple links on an external website all serve to generate solid referral traffic, will this boost rankings, and thereby be a sound practice? Thanks in advance for your help in clarifying this for me!

                              Creating A Scholarship For SEO

My client is a Law Firm just outside of Tampa, and I am trying to get her keyword phrase: "Tampa Car Accident Attorney" in the top 3. One of the strategies I want to use is to create a scholarship for "Tampa Area Students and how a car accident impacted their life" or "Tampa Area Students and how they think they can decrease car accidents." (that's still be worked on).  Once the scholarship is created, I want to put it on our Tampa Car Accident Attorney page, and get other companies to link to that page. My question is what links should we go after? Because that will tailor it to who we give the scholarship to. We could give it to a University of South Florida student, and get one .edu link. We could do the same thing for the University of Tampa, or Stetson Law School, but we'd only be getting one link from each of them. If we set it up for high schoolers, we can get more links from the community and schools, but I'm not sure high school .edu links matter all that much. Is 10 high school .edu links as important as 1 college .edu link? I don't know. If anyone has had an experience with this or any insights, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
