Website Description
My blog where I share my wisdom, rants and general thoughts on life.
Favorite Thing about SEO
My favorite thing about SEO is the constant changes that are needed to maintain ranking and dispelling the myth that eCommerce store owners don't need to worry about SEO!
I began my eCommerce career in 1994 when my business partner, Joe Palko, and I started our first online stores - TheFerretStore.com. We quickly grew to be one of the largest pet supply distributors in the United States serving retail customers and the pet trade. We quickly grew into a full-line pet supply distributor with dog, cat, small animal, bird and fish supplies were added to the ferret product selection. With our own warehouse and customer service call center, we were able to launch 39 eCommerce stores and do $12M in annual sales at the time the company was sold to Dr. Foster & Smith in 2006.
In 2001, Joe and I started our second company, Solid Cactus, which was - and still is - the largest developer of Yahoo! Stores in the United States. In addition to the design and programming of eCommerce stores, we offered customers managed Internet Marketing services (SEO, PPC, CSE, Social Media, etc) and call center services.
Solid Cactus was named one of the fastest growing companies in the United States by Inc. Magazine and was named one of the "Best Places to Work" in Pennsylvania for three consecutive years.
In 2009, Solid Cactus was sold to Web.com, but under our leadership we had nearly 200 employees and launched over 3,500 eCommerce stores.
Following the sale to Web.com, I remain on-staff with Solid Cactus and work with our high GMV merchants on strategies to help grow their online businesses.
