Any SEO benefits of adding a Glossary to our website?

Hi all, I manage a website for a software company. Many terms can be quite tricky so it would be nice to add a Glossary page. Other than that, I have 2 questions: 1. What would be the SEO benefits? 2. How would you suggest to implement this glossary so we can get as much SEO benefit as possible (for example how would we link, where would we place the glossary in the terms of the sitemap, etc.). Any advice appreciated! Katarina

Hi Roy, I thought about just explaining what the term means. But you seem to suggest I should dedicate more space to each term, am I right? My idea was: to list all terms that visitors might need to have explained and link them with the pages where they are used. I believe each term would be explained via a sentence or two. Is this not enough? Is there any better SEO solution? I know for sure there won't be any videos or guides for now, it will be just a simple page. The page would sit in our Help Centre and we would have a Glossary link in the footer. Many thanks. Katarina

Roman, Our website is really rich so I wonder if I would only give it a link from the footer. Thanks. Katarina

Building a Glossary section can be something very beneficial if you are doing it right, we built something similar (Knowledge base) and I saw amazing results You should focus on - quality content, videos, guides and etc. I would consider to build a suppurate sitemap only for the glossary, and of course use internal links between each of pages

Depends on the answers to two questions specific to the site/business in question:
Would a glossary be useful to the customers, prospects, users, etc.?
Is the audience likely to search for definitions of the terminology you use? (The alternative is something they're more likely to refer to while already on the site).
If the answer to both is "yes", then it'd likely be useful to SEO because it addresses demand. An Glossary offers a lot of opportunities that differ from a site map, or even a well thought out hierarchy of pages that can be easy to follow and understand. From a usability stance, they can be a very good idea, especially for a huge site. It can also include concepts that are described on pages in words that may not be used on other pages.

		Multilingual website
My website is https://www.india-visa-gov.in and we are doing multilingual. There are three options 1. TLD eg india-visa-gov.fr (French) india-visa-gov.de (German) 2. Subdomain eg: fr.india-visa-gov.in (French) de.india-visa-gov.in (German) 3. Folders https://www.india-visa-gov.in/fr/ (French) https://www.india-visa-gov.in/de/ (German) We have tried the 3rd option but need to know whether its better or not for the long term health from SEO. Does the MOZ DA carry better in Subdomain or TLD or Folders? What does MOZ recommend to maintain DA? Thanks Technical SEO | | amitdipsite150220200

		SEO - New URL structure
Hi, Currently we have the following url structure for all pages, regardless of the hierarchy: domain.co.uk/page, such as domain/blog name. Can you, please confirm the following: 1. What is the benefit of organising the pages as a hierarchy, i.e. domain/features/feature-name or domain/industries/industry-name or domain/blog/blog name etc. 2. This will create too many 301s - what is Google's tolerance of redirects? Is it worth for us changing the url structure or would you only recommend to add breadcrumbs? Many thanks Katarina Technical SEO | | Katarina-Borovska1

Do Letters With Accents Affect SEO?
Hi Guys, My company has a franchise of a foreign company that uses an accent/foreign letter in its brand name. We have to refer to this franchise with this symbol on our website to meet their standards. I've done some research on this but its not conclusive, so i was wondering whether anyone here can confirm this for me; Will using the letter with this symbol impair our rankings for this franchise name? Obviously as a UK business people search for this franchise with a regular letter and not the accented one. I would have thought that Google is clever enough to recognise the meaning of the accented letter by now and therefore it wouldn't affect rankings (much). Furthermore, do you think that it would make any difference to use the HTML element to represent the accent rather than copy and pasting the symbol onto our website? I would've thought this would help Google pick it up, but it might not make a difference anyway! Any help is appreciated. Thanks Sam Technical SEO | | Sandicliffe1

Will Adding Publish Date at end of Page Title for Blog posts Hurt SEO?
I'd like to be able to easily track blog posts by month but in Google reports when you set a date range obviously older blog post still appear and with amount of blog posts we generate without seeing the date in the title it's not obvious what was published and when it was published. For example if a Blog Title was "/dangers-of-sharing-KM-knowledge-01-11-15 would it hurt SEO? The reason is I'd like to have a quick way to know how new posts do each month compared to older content Technical SEO | | inhouseninja0

		Can a CMS affect SEO?
As the title really, I run www.specialistpaintsonline.co.uk and 6 months ago when I first got it it had bad links which google had put a penalty against it so losts it value. However the penalty was lift in Sept, the site corresponds to all guidelines and seo work has been done and constantly monitored. the issue I have is sales and visits have not gone up, we are failing fast and running on 2 or 3 sales a month isn't enough to cover any sort of cost let alone wages. hence my question can the cms have anything to do with it? Im at a loss and go grey any help or advice would be great. thanks in advance. Technical SEO | | TeamacPaints0
