Link Frequency

I understand that good link building is all about the quality of the link / the anchor text attached to it. But, what about frequency? Should I build until I can't build anymore? or create a plan to submit links to a certain # of sites per week/month?

absolutely true about throttling your linkbuilding. Slow, steady and relevant.

Hi Susanna, Great Question. I would generally say that setting aside an amount of time per day/week is better than going after X number of links as this metric cannot be measured well. For example, if I were to build 100 directory links or 25 in content links from unique relevant sites- the 25 would trump the 100. Try and create a seed list of links an automate as much of the low level link building (directories, articles, bookmarking, etc. ) as possible. Making sure your automation drip feeds the low quality links to your site. When this is taken care of you then have all your time to spend on getting quality links. And if you want to add lots of links- add more content to your site to cover you tracks. More content will naturally attract more links. Hope this helps.

Acquiring links at a consistent rate is more sustainable; I've also heard (but cannot personally prove) that you should gradually grow links to make the link growth more natural - i.e. sudden spikes in growth may trigger some adverse reaction from SE's. Personally, I think there are many natural reasons for spikes too - some event like a product launch, natural disaster or even something like being mentioned on the 10 o'clock news that I wouldnt worry about it. But scaling up your link building sure makes it easier to build your systems and processes, adding more link building methods over time. You can't come out of the gate and expect to build a million backlinks in a month. At least not ones that will matter.

When conducting a link building strategy does it matter the country the link is from?
We are a UK business and if we have links mostly from US based blogs and websites does this penalise us. The links are from relevant websites and topics. Should we be focusing on .co.uk sites Link Building | | Caffeine_Marketing1

		Spammy links
Hi Guys, I have a case which seems to occur more often for our customers. The websites of our customers seem to receive tons of backlinks from websites all over the world (China, Russia, Ukrain, etc). It’s spam we never asked for, we didn’t buy any dodgy linkbuilding packages or anything. Do any of you guys have experience with this matter? We try to disavow the links but it takes too much time and we will never manage to disavow 100% of all links. Examples are www.keukensduitsland.nl and www.m2beveiliging.nl Hope anyone has experience and maybe even solutions for this matter. Thanks! Link Building | | Happy-SEO1

		Nofollow affiliate links
I am setting up an affiliate program using software built in to my shop already (x-cart). The links generated by the software do not have the rel="nofollow" in them. I'm assuming they should have? When looking at Amazon, there must be millions of links out there pointing back to Amazon and all those links are followed back to them for link juice. Am I missing something? Surely best practice here is to re="nofollow" so you're not seen to be manipulating Google PageRank? Link Building | | sparrowdog0

		Edu links service
http://www.getedubacklink.com/ I found this site and was curious if anybody knew if they were legit or quality links in any way. My site has thousands of legit backlinks (none paid or even built through a service) so I was interested in building a greater diversity from domain extensions and thought edu links would be good. However most edu pages I find that allow any links are SPAMMED hard and not worth my time.
