EBay listing links SEO value?

Hi guys,
Our website has an eBay widget which lots of eBay users put on their listings. We are thinking of using that as a way to get links from eBay listings.
However, since most eBay listings will disappear after 90 days, is this worth doing and also will Google count those links?

I realise this is an old thread but can I ask : can you list to your website from yiur ebay listings? It was my understanding EBAY disapproved of outbound links. Is there a way to go about it thats in line with policies. ?My own store is wordpress/woocommerce.

Hello David, my company that I work for has/had several Ebay accounts for different websites and one thing I always noticed is that when we linked our site, or the corresponding product in the listing it would hold power when searching for it. In other words Some of my listing that I put up that really never sold, I would make sure they were heavily optimized and would usually show up in search results. I also noticed that our on site sales would increase when I did this because customers would view our website after looking at the listing which lead to more browsing/buying. But as you said they dissapear after 90 days, and the selling items go away rather fast so it does become somewhat null in purpose. So it comes to a personal choice good sir, good luck on your quest for Page 1!

It sounds like it would be simple to do and I can't see any serious down side. Sounds like an easy win, even if the results would not be as good as if the links were appearing on longer standing pages.
Depending on what your existing link profile looks like, I would be careful about saturating anchor text. If you suddenly had a huge jump in links all with exact match anchor text then it could be problematic. If there is a risk of that opt for brand anchor - or better still vary the text.
I'd rather have a regular stream of links that last 90 days than not have them. I know that some would have reservations about having large numbers of links not hanging around, but I don't think it would be an issue in this case.

Unsolved Are links from staff profile pages no longer good for SEO?
Hey there, We run a small site that lists lawyers and we have an opportunity to ask the lawyers to display a 'badge' on their own website's staff page, linked back to the page on our site that they are listed on. Initially I thought this would be good link building (i.e. the lawyer's own staff/profile pages on their website linking to our site where they are listed = a highly relevant link). I was less concerned about the authority of the law firm's sites, though these will range from sometimes low-ish to medium. I just assumed that Google would see the value in the lawyer wanting to link to our site where they are listed. However, our SEO has said that these days Google doesn't give much/any value to these types of links from individual staff pages. His advice was to try and get the badge added to one of their service pages (or their About page) which will be unlikely as the badge is person-specific. I thought I'd ask if this was everyone else's experience regarding Google not valuing links from individual staff pages? Thanks for you help 🙂

If I disavow bad links on "disavow link webmaster" will they still show up on my moz reports?
We recently found out we have a lot of bad links linking back to our website from spam sites, I disavowed them through the google disavow link webmaster. On my moz report it still shows the links, is that normal?

I've ran a back link check and discovered a good back link to a site which then gets redirected back to my company's website. I have a feeling that an old SEO agency has purchased a small website which has a decent link back from a relevant organisation with a high Domain authority and then redirects the domain to our website to get the link juice. What are your thought on this? Is this really bad practise and possibly damaging? Thanks, Jim0 -
What tool can be used to provide a list of links on a website that points to other websites?
For example: On a website there are items in the news listing that point to articles about a company that appear on online news sites; items that point to collateral hosted by vendors we use, etc. What tool can be used to provide a list of these links?

Does the ratio of external nofollow links to external "do follow" links matter in terms of SERPs ranking?
My site has an external link nofollow:dofollow ratio of approximately 1:1 That is, there are about as many nofollow external links as "do follow" external links. I have an impression that the ratio of no-follow to "do follow" links is a factor in the way that our website shows up in SERPs. I have the impression from reading a variety of sources, and from looking at Seomoz, that calculate "trust" factors as if they mattered (in SERPs), that seem to value a relatively low nofollow:dofollow ratio. so i have a web design firm and, when i decided i need to offer seo services i originally went with an seo reseller company. i decided to try them out on myself so i gave them 4 keywords to rank for and tried them for about 6 months. when they started, our website was in google oblivion for those 4 keywords. after 6 months some keywords are on page 1 and some at the top of page 2. the ones on page 1 are the ones i also optimized for by putting the keyword in a footer link in all my clients' sites. when i look over what they did they either wrote cheesy articles that link back to me and posted them in random places or they commented on people's blogs linking back to me. but it seemed to work. at least to get me from oblivion to page 2. now it seems to me these methods are discouraged here but they seem to do at least some good. any thoughts or comments on this?

Is it important to have a geo modifier for local SEO link building?
If anyone here is familiar with local SEO, you may have noticed that there are different local results for: "city + Keyword" and just the "keyword". When building links will you end up targeting both with a geo modifier in the link, or is it beneficial to build links without the geo modifer for the keyword?
