Value of RSS Feed for a website?
-

What sort of value does an RSS feed provide for a website? If you use an RSS feed on your website, what do you use to keep it updated? Can you recycle mention of content / pages in the feed over time? Any good links on this subject?
-

Thanks. That was helpful. So I can use Google's Feedburner and that's sufficient to get maximum exposure? Or do I also have to use others like Bloglines? As previously mentioned, I was using "RSS Builder" some time back. Any recommendations for managing the actual feed given it's being used for a website? Can I start a new feed based on the newer pages added over the last so many months?

The main benefit of RSS feeds is to keep users updated with your latest content should they not access your site directly. From an SEO point, if you have activated the "pingback" feature, this will ensure that every site update will be notified to search engines & browser bots and specific blog/content submission sites. RSS feeds also provides additional internal links to a page hence providing more link juice and page authority. Make sure you don't have too many internal links on a page. It is therefore important to be smart about RSS feed placement and making it compatible to access and read fpr all types of sites mentioned above. This is why you'll notice people using Google's Feedburner, whereby you can have more control optimising the meta data per RSS feedback and automatically connecting social media accounts i.e. twitter or digg for automating content promotion. Hope this helps, Vahe

What is the SEO / Google value, if any, to providing an RSS feed to a website that's more static than not? Low value, high value? If you use an RSS feed on your website, is there any sort of automated program to keep it updated? (I used to "RSS Builder" a few years ago but fell out of the habit of keeping it updated because I didn't think I was getting any benefit from the feed since pages are more static than not / not enough freshness.) Can you / do you / should you recycle mention of content / pages in the feed over time?

Why Google Search Console Data is different from Moz Data for my website
Hi All I am running a website, I have been using Moz since Feb 2021. Kindly go through these pics My question is why Moz is showing 2K plus backlinks while Google search console is showing just 1253 backlinks. Why fewer links in the google search console is less? How can I increase Google search console backlinks? Also, Moz is showing 90+ DA backlinks but those websites are not showing by the Google search console. What should I do to let google consider them? m0JGjBQ.jpg Cmp8ei3.png Link Building | | ssubodhsingh0

Creating a subdomain or subdirectory for each major city for our main website...
If our website is abc.com I am wanting to create a subdomain or subdirectory for each major city for SEO targeting purposes. But I want each domain to go to our see the same content from the main website abc.com. What's the best way to accomplish this? Duplicating our main page over and over sounds terrible , especially when trying to make changes down the road. Should we create an alias for each location? example.. abc.com/new-york, abc.com-chicago, etc...? If we go that route how does google acknowledge that? Would that mess up our SEO or help? Thanks! What are the SEO implications of high quality backlinks from US-based websites to UK-based websites?
Hi everyone, quick question I hope someone could help me with: We're representing a client based in the UK. As part of their overall strategy we've been linkbuilding. At the moment, about 80/90% of the links we've gained come from UK-based sites, with 10/20% coming from US-based websites. The US based websites are very good (think New York Times and genuine, relevant blogs with good readerships). An external search analyst/consultant has contacted the client to say that the US links will be harming the site, because the links are from websites in the US and not the UK. We believe that if 80/90% of the links were from the US this could indeed cause harm as it could indicate to search engines that our client is in the US when it's not (which might compromise their chance of ranking in .co.uk versions of search engines) however because it's only 10/20%, and because the linking sites are very good, we believe that they will getting all of the benefits of the positive metrics without any meaningful negatives. We just wanted to get a few opinions on this to see if people think that we're mistaken, and would be glad to hear any opinions contrary to our own. Link Building | | GoUp0

1000 of links on my website ? is it good or bad
Hi guys my site: www.dorchdanola-netbutik.dk is a e-commerce store, and generally we have many links on all pages because of the many products and categories. Im not sure if this is actually bad or good? I've been told that it will definately harm my site when google crawls it. The thing is that google visit my site often and I still have good pageranks in google. So does it actually harm my site having all these products and categories? And what can I do about it if google see every page as duplicate content? I also link to my social pages like FB, G+, e.g. Should I put rel="nofollow" or rel="me" on these social links? Thanks guys! Where/should I post my press release/articles on my own website?
I have started a long-term article marketing campaign and press release distribution. I will have about 4 articles and press releases in total every month. Although the press releases will not be self-promotional, sometimes they will be talking about a certain product that we unveil. The question is, due to the high quality of these press releases, should I put them on my website as well as publish them on third party websites? If so, because they target a specific service/product which we already have a dedicated page on our website, wouldn't that put Google in the position of choosing between the two pages? I was thinking to put them on my blog and link internally from there with the keywords that I target on those pages as anchor text. The same question for articles. Any suggestions?
