Hey there, Hope you guys can help. We get the following error: Nested indexing. Another Sitemap index refers to the index of sitemaps. The thing is that we cant find the error they are talking about. Thanks!!!!

Looks like it worked!. We send 123.000 urls and it only indexed 9.000....Is that because we had 2 sitemap index, and it takes time?. Thanks again!

I would say yes if you also delete the sitemap from the Google Webmaster Tools Sitemap division. Than Google knows what sitemap(s) to use.

Martijn, Sorry to bother you. One more question, should we erase http://cursos.workea.org/sitemap.xml file once we have the the sitemaps that are in this sitemap index in the original one? Thanks
-

Will do! and let you know if it worked. Thank you very much Martijn Cheers!

Hi Eduardo, Yepm, like expected. The first sitemap you mentioned is an sitemap index file. But the http://cursos.workea.org/sitemap.xml is also a sitemap index. Within the Google policies that's not possible. You should directly include the sitemaps of your http://cursos.workea.org/sitemap.xml file in your first and only sitemap index file.

Hi Eduardo, I have just tried to access the http://cursos.workea.org/sitemap.xml sitemap and it is coming up with a 404 error. Are you sure that you have placed the sitemap in the root folder of the subdomain? Try deleting it from the server and then re-uploading it again. Matt.

Hi Eduardo, This topic/ question might help you out, it was asked a couple of weeks ago. And I think it could provide you with an answer: http://www.seomoz.org/q/sitemap-nested-indexing-this-sitemap-index-is-referenced-by-another-sitemap-index Hope this helps,
 Martijn.

Hi Eduardo, Do you have multiple sitemaps that are shown in an initial index? If so, it may be that there is a problem here. Try just making the sitemap's name sitemap.xml, and making sure it is within the root domain folder. If this is already done then you will need to drop us a link to your sitemap to take a look, Matt.

If you provide I link to your sitemap, I could take a look and see what may be causing the issue.

We need help solving the problem with Google indexing.
All pages of our website are crawled and indexed. All pages, including those mentioned, meet Google requirements and can be indexed. However, only this page is still not indexed.
 Robots.txt is not blocking it.
We do not have a tag "nofollow"
We have it in the sitemap file.
We have internal links for this page from indexed pages.
We requested indexing many times, and it is still grey.
The page was established one year ago.
We are open to any suggestions or guidance you may have. What else can we do to expedite the indexing process?1

How to find google indexed pages
I can't find where the # of indexed pages are on my google analytics. I tried the instructions below, but the index status was not an option on my dashboard. Google cached snapshots and last indexed
My question is I noticed today that the snap shots of my main pages were outdated. About a month. Then I clicked on the "Learn More" link about cahced images and Google says "Google crawls the web and takes snapshots of each page. When you click Cached, you'll see the webpage as it looked when we last indexed it." I know this sounds really dumb, but does that really mean the last time Google indexed that page? So the changes I have made since then have not been taken yet? On-Page Optimization | | cbielich0

Can I use the first sentence of my page content as a meta description tag as well?
I just want to copy my content on the page and use the first or as well the second sentence of the content self for my meta description tag. Is that OK? Or should the Meta description tag be different? On-Page Optimization | | paulinap19830

Wordpress: Should I NO INDEX Categories & Archives Pages?
I am new to SEOmoz & trying to work my way through the ca-trillion errors that have been found on my site, but for each one I want to ensure that I am helping rather than harming my site. The tool has (as a "notice") said that my category pages & Archives are NO-INDEX, is this how these pages should be dealt with? In addition, the crawler has also (as a "warning error) discovered that my categories, and Archives do not have a meta description..is this of great importance for non indexed pages of this type? Thanks so much to the SEOmoz forum members, you have so far been of invaluable help to me.
