Hey there, Hope you guys can help. We get the following error: Nested indexing. Another Sitemap index refers to the index of sitemaps. The thing is that we cant find the error they are talking about. Thanks!!!!

Looks like it worked!. We send 123.000 urls and it only indexed 9.000....Is that because we had 2 sitemap index, and it takes time?. Thanks again!

I would say yes if you also delete the sitemap from the Google Webmaster Tools Sitemap division. Than Google knows what sitemap(s) to use.

Martijn, Sorry to bother you. One more question, should we erase http://cursos.workea.org/sitemap.xml file once we have the the sitemaps that are in this sitemap index in the original one? Thanks
-

Will do! and let you know if it worked. Thank you very much Martijn Cheers!

Hi Eduardo, Yepm, like expected. The first sitemap you mentioned is an sitemap index file. But the http://cursos.workea.org/sitemap.xml is also a sitemap index. Within the Google policies that's not possible. You should directly include the sitemaps of your http://cursos.workea.org/sitemap.xml file in your first and only sitemap index file.

Hi Eduardo, I have just tried to access the http://cursos.workea.org/sitemap.xml sitemap and it is coming up with a 404 error. Are you sure that you have placed the sitemap in the root folder of the subdomain? Try deleting it from the server and then re-uploading it again. Matt.

Hi Eduardo, This topic/ question might help you out, it was asked a couple of weeks ago. And I think it could provide you with an answer: http://www.seomoz.org/q/sitemap-nested-indexing-this-sitemap-index-is-referenced-by-another-sitemap-index Hope this helps,
 Martijn.

Hi Eduardo, Do you have multiple sitemaps that are shown in an initial index? If so, it may be that there is a problem here. Try just making the sitemap's name sitemap.xml, and making sure it is within the root domain folder. If this is already done then you will need to drop us a link to your sitemap to take a look, Matt.

If you provide I link to your sitemap, I could take a look and see what may be causing the issue.

		Virtual URL Google not indexing?
Dear all, We have two URLs: The main URL which is crawled both by GSC and where Moz assigns our keywords is: https://andipaeditions.com/banksy/ The second one is called a virtual url by our developpers: https://andipaeditions.com/banksy/signedandunsignedprintsforsale/ This is currently not indexed by Google. We have been linking to the second URL and I am unable to see if this is passing juice/anything on to the main one /banksy/ Is it a canonical? The /banksy/ is the one that is being picked up in serps/by Moz and worry that the two similar URLs are splitting the signal. Should I redirect from the second to the first? Google Console returning 0 pages as being indexed
HI there, I submitted my site notebuster.net to Search Console over a month ago and it is showing 0 pages as being indexed under the index status report. I know this isn't right as I can see that in google alone by typing in (site:notebusters.net) there are 113 pages indexed. Any idea why this might be? Thanks On-Page Optimization | | CosiCrawley0

Can lazy loading of images affect indexing?
I am trying to diagnose a massive drop in Google rankings for my website and noticed that the date of the ranking and traffic drop coincides with Google suddenly only indexing about 10% of my images, whereas previously it was indexing about 95% of them. Wondering if addition of lazy load script to images (so they don't load from the server until visible in the browser) could cause this index blocking? On-Page Optimization | | Gavin.Atkinson1

New site pages are indexed but not ranking for anything
I just built this site for a client http://primedraftarchitecture.com. It went live 3 weeks ago and the pages are getting indexed as per Webmaster Tools. But I'm not seeing it rank for anything. We're adding blog articles regularly and used Moz Local for local links and have been building links in other local directories (probably about 15 so far). Usually I get some rankings, although very low, after just a week or two for new sites. Does anyone see anything glaring that may be causing a problem? On-Page Optimization | | DonaldS1

Missing meta descriptions on indexed pages, portfolio, tags, author and archive pages. I am using SEO all in one, any advice?
I am having a few problems that I can't seem to work out.....I am fairly new to this and can't seem to work out the following: Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂 1. I am missing alot of meta description tags. I have installed "All in One SEO" but there seems to be no options to add meta descriptions in portfolio posts. I have also written meta descriptions for 'tags' and whilst I can see them in WP they don't seem to be activated. 2. The blog has pages indexed by WP- called Part 2 (/page/2), Part 3 (/page/3) etc. How do I solve this issue of meta descriptions and indexed pages? 3. There is also a page for myself, the author, that has multiple indexes for all the blog posts I have written, and I can't edit these archives to add meta descriptions. This also applies to the month archives for the blog. 4. Also, SEOmoz tells me that I have too many links on my blog page (also indexed) and their consequent tags. This also applies to the author pages (myself ). How do I fix this? Thanks for your help 🙂 Regards Nadia On-Page Optimization | | PHDAustralia680

Do we need to use the canonical tag on non-indexed pages?
Hi there I have been working in / learning SEO for just over a year, coming from a non dev background, so there are still plenty of the finer points on-page points I am working on. Slowly building up confidence and knowledge with the great SEOMoz as a reference! We are working on this site http://www.preciseuk.co.uk (we are still tweaking the tags and content by the way- not finished yet!) Because a lot of the information is within accordians, a page is generated for each tab of the accordian expanded, for example: http://www.preciseuk.co.uk/facilities-management.php is the main page but then you also have: http://www.preciseuk.co.uk/facilities-management.php?tab=0 http://www.preciseuk.co.uk/facilities-management.php?tab=1 http://www.preciseuk.co.uk/facilities-management.php?tab=2 http://www.preciseuk.co.uk/facilities-management.php?tab=3 http://www.preciseuk.co.uk/facilities-management.php?tab=4 http://www.preciseuk.co.uk/facilities-management.php?tab=5 All of which are in the same file. According to the crawl test, these pages are not indexed. Because it is all in one file, should we add the canonical tag to it, so that this is replicated in all the tab pages that are generated? eg. Thanks in advance for your help! Liz OneResult On-Page Optimization | | oneresult
