Hey there, Hope you guys can help. We get the following error: Nested indexing. Another Sitemap index refers to the index of sitemaps. The thing is that we cant find the error they are talking about. Thanks!!!!

Looks like it worked!. We send 123.000 urls and it only indexed 9.000....Is that because we had 2 sitemap index, and it takes time?. Thanks again!

I would say yes if you also delete the sitemap from the Google Webmaster Tools Sitemap division. Than Google knows what sitemap(s) to use.

Martijn, Sorry to bother you. One more question, should we erase http://cursos.workea.org/sitemap.xml file once we have the the sitemaps that are in this sitemap index in the original one? Thanks
-

Will do! and let you know if it worked. Thank you very much Martijn Cheers!

Hi Eduardo, Yepm, like expected. The first sitemap you mentioned is an sitemap index file. But the http://cursos.workea.org/sitemap.xml is also a sitemap index. Within the Google policies that's not possible. You should directly include the sitemaps of your http://cursos.workea.org/sitemap.xml file in your first and only sitemap index file.

Hi Eduardo, I have just tried to access the http://cursos.workea.org/sitemap.xml sitemap and it is coming up with a 404 error. Are you sure that you have placed the sitemap in the root folder of the subdomain? Try deleting it from the server and then re-uploading it again. Matt.

Hi Eduardo, This topic/ question might help you out, it was asked a couple of weeks ago. And I think it could provide you with an answer: http://www.seomoz.org/q/sitemap-nested-indexing-this-sitemap-index-is-referenced-by-another-sitemap-index Hope this helps,
 Martijn.

Hi Eduardo, Do you have multiple sitemaps that are shown in an initial index? If so, it may be that there is a problem here. Try just making the sitemap's name sitemap.xml, and making sure it is within the root domain folder. If this is already done then you will need to drop us a link to your sitemap to take a look, Matt.

If you provide I link to your sitemap, I could take a look and see what may be causing the issue.

All pages of our website are crawled and indexed. All pages, including those mentioned, meet Google requirements and can be indexed. However, only this page is still not indexed.
 Robots.txt is not blocking it.
We do not have a tag "nofollow"
We have it in the sitemap file.
We have internal links for this page from indexed pages.
We requested indexing many times, and it is still grey.
The page was established one year ago.
We are open to any suggestions or guidance you may have. What else can we do to expedite the indexing process?1

No index for http version of website
Hi, I've had a message from Google search console to say the sitemap for the http version of my site is tagged as no index. As the https version is indexed, do I need to change the http version to be indexed as well? Do I need to keep the http version of the site in search console alongside the https version, or should I remove it? Advice appreciated! On-Page Optimization | | Robingoodlad0

Does Google avoid indexing pages that include registered trademark signs?
I am suspecting that Google often hesitates to index pages that have registered trademarks on them that are marked with a ®. For example EGOL® used in the title tag or in the tag at the top of the page. Registered trademarks are everywhere and most retail product pages contain at least one of them. However, most people use the registered trademark names as text in their writing without adding the registered trademark sign of ®. Have you experienced a problem getting such pages indexed or have you read any articles about how Google treats registered trademarks? On-Page Optimization | | EGOL0

Disappearing and reappearing in google index
Hello. I made a lot of car accident lawyer city pages. They probably weren't as unique as they should have been. Suddenly, they all disappeared from the rankings and I freaked out. Then, two days later, they all returned. Is this a bad sign? Should I be worried? Why would they drop out of the rankings and come back in? Let me know, thanks. On-Page Optimization | | RafeTLouis0

Is it damaging to have TOO long a title tag these days? i.e. well over character limit
Is it damaging to have TOO long a title tag these days? i.e. well over character limit. I learned that title tags should be around 70 characters. I am new at this, but have a client that has three times that, with the same three keyword phrases repeating 3-4 times. And then NO h1's or h2's in the text......advice? Rookie here 🙂 On-Page Optimization | | cschwartzel0

Wordpress: Should I NO INDEX Categories & Archives Pages?
I am new to SEOmoz & trying to work my way through the ca-trillion errors that have been found on my site, but for each one I want to ensure that I am helping rather than harming my site. The tool has (as a "notice") said that my category pages & Archives are NO-INDEX, is this how these pages should be dealt with? In addition, the crawler has also (as a "warning error) discovered that my categories, and Archives do not have a meta description..is this of great importance for non indexed pages of this type? Thanks so much to the SEOmoz forum members, you have so far been of invaluable help to me.
