Migrated website but Google Analytics still displays old URL's and none new?!

I migrated a website from a .aspx to a .php and hence had to 301 all the old urls to the new php ones. It's been months after and I'm not seeing any of the php pages showing results but I'm still getting results from the old .aspx pages. Has any one had any experience with this issue or knows what to do? Many thanks,

Hi there I would make sure you take a look through this migration guide from Moz as it has steps to ensure your site is properly migrated. From there, I would check the following:
 Sitemap
 Internal Links
Canonical Tags Change of Address Tool (if necessary)The first three links above could potentially be utilizing old URL structures, so you want to make sure that you change those and they are up to date. The last is for if you changed your domain at all. Your analytics tag should not be the reason that your new URLs are not appearing in search. After these steps, I would then go through a backlink audit and make sure that you update any quality backlinks or listings and remove and/or disavow any links that you find to be spammy or irrelevant to your website. Hope this helps! Good luck!

No, as long as not deleting analytics account when you upgrade it is ok, just a code update. That said I am a cautious chap so I would peel out some important data on the off chance... but spend little time on it, just for safety.

Hi John, Thanks for the answer. Just a quick one, will this lose the previous records? Cheers

It seems you are using the old gs.js page tracking on the site. Looking at cogri
Maybe replace the tracking code with the new Analytics.js?Anayltics.js has some new tracking features compared to the old ga.js and might be the reason why you aren't able to see data & statistics. Available here: https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/upgrade/reference/gajs-analyticsjs It can take a couple of days for GA to update... as well.

Hi John, Thank you for getting in touch. I had analytics set up before the migration and I have kept the same tracking code for the new site. I figured that it would be ok as the domain and URL's are exactly the same apart from the fact that the old ones had .aspx on the end.

Whatstuffwherebot user agent messing up Google Analytics
Starting yesterday, Aug 26, 2020, I noticed a new bot crawling our site with user agent whatstuffwherebot. Google Analytics is counting these hits as human traffic, completely throwing off my numbers - yesterday, Analytics reported nearly triple my typical number of visitors. As of now, Search Console only shows data through Aug 25 so I don't know if Search Console is also affected. Is anybody else seeing something similar? Does anybody know what the whatstuffwherebot bot is? I don't get any results when I search on Google or Bing. For what it's worth, the traffic is coming from Columbus, OH, running over Amazon AWS via 278 different IP addresses so far. Also, WordFence (my WordPress security plugin) correctly identifies these hits as bot traffic. Reporting & Analytics | | ahirai0

		Tasks for Google Analytics training
Hi Mozzers, I'm delivering some Google Analytics (Fundamentals level) training, and trying to make it was fun and as interesting as possible... which is quite a challenge when it comes to GA. I was just wondering if you're aware of training tasks, or interactions, I could bring into this kind of training session? The group are particularly interested in user journeys and the effectiveness of content. Thanks! Reporting & Analytics | | A_Q0

Is there a way to find out who the admin of a Google Analytics account is?
We have a client who has been searching high and low to gain access to the GA account that is tied to their website, but previous agencies keep stating they don't have access. Is there a way to find out who the admins are on a GA account with the tracking number so we can reach out to that person and ask them to admin the client? Google Analytics - Next Page Path is the Same URL?
Hey Everyone, I have a Google analytics question. I'm looking through a client's site and when I look at the next page path, I get the same URL as the next path. For example, on the homepage, the next page path I get is the homepage again? This happens for all URL's, is this an implementation error? Is there a way to fix this? Thanks! Setting up Google Analytics for Subsites
I currently have one main .com site and am planning on launching geo-location subsites .co.uk, .com.au, .ru, etc... Traffic will flow between both sites and some of the content on the subsites will be duplicate and therefore include a canonical tag to the main site. I want to set up GA to capture who is going to the subsites and vice versa and correctly capture crossover traffic. Any advice on implementing advanced analytics directly (or links to sources that will direct me the right direction for this project) Reporting & Analytics | | theLotter0

Setting Up Google Analytic with Sub Folder Sites
What is the best way of setting up Google Analytic for a website that has many sub folders? The main site is example.com and it has 40 sub folder sites like example.com/uk example.com/France etc etc Would it be advised to track a single domain in Google Analytic then create filters for the sub folder sites. Filters > Include traffic from > Sub directories Also with this method is it possible to view overall incoming website stats for everything? Previous experience would be great with this thanks 🙂 Reporting & Analytics | | daracreative0

Setting up Google Analytics default URL
If someone has set: the default url in Google Analytics to a non-www address (http://mysite.com) then placed the UA tracking script from that GA account within the CMS framework of the website... ... and then set the permanent 301 redirect in the htaccess file to redirect to the www address (http://www.mysite.com). How less accurrate will my GA analytics measurements be considering the default url within GA is non-www and the permanent 301 redirect in htacess is to the www-address? Anyone know how reliable GA reports are until the default url in GA analytics is changed to match what is the redirected url in htaccess file? _Cindy Reporting & Analytics | | CeCeBar0

Google Analytics: how many visits from country Google domains?
Hello, I manage a site with visitors from many different countries. With Google Analytics, it is normal to see the number of visitors from each search engine. However, I would like to identify the number of visitors from each Google-search contry domain. How many visitors from Google.com? How many from Google.co.uk. And from Google.co.zm? And so on. Anybody knows if this is possible and if yes, how can it be done? Thank you in advance, Dario Reporting & Analytics | | Darioz0
