My site is about jokes. I wonder what schema markup could I use to be more visible in the search results.

There a good article on best practices for pagination here, on Moz: https://a-moz.groupbuyseo.org/blog/pagination-best-practices-for-seo-user-experience

I personally think, that 10 jokes per page is not a very good practice (obviously depends on how long the jokes are).
              1. 100 Jokes is too much to swallow in one sitting.
              2. People don't like pagination when it comes to entertaining content, it always seems like you just want to grab more clicks out of nothing.

I would break those 100 jokes into 5 separate posts, via keyword research, which will help you find neutral niches for your jokes, regardless of your content. Something like "Best jokes for teenagers" (~600 monthly searches) / best new jokes (~ 400 searches, and who cares if they're not really new).

It's better to have 5 different posts like that one, it's easier to rank for these keywords as they're less competitive than just "best jokes", and you'll have a solid semantic structure, crawlers will see that your website is all bout lists of jokes, which is what you really want to achieve here.

Thank you very much indeed. I am new to Schema.org.

Is this how I should do the list:

                Title of list

                Joke 1

                Jokes 2
                ....

I have a Top 100 on 10 sites (pagination). Shall I use always the same title? Or can I used on each site a slightly different title (e.g. Jokes Top 100 | Part 3)

Shall I put something else on the site (for example in the head of the site.)

I would create lists. So list item markup.
Something like "25 Best Jokes About Horses", "17 Funniest Puns","Best knock-knock jokes"
Btw, Buzzfeed ranks on #0 for the last one: http://i.imgur.com/bws4qDe.png And they used a simple list item for markup.

Hreflang - Is it needed even if the site is only one language

This topic came up in a discussion I had with a fellow SEO colleague, I don't believe it makes sense to have Hreflang if you don't have a second language but according to my friend they mentioned that it is great if your only targeting one country. Any opinions out in the Moz community?  It seems like overkill to me

Using a hyphen in title tags and the impact of spaces

Hi I am trying to arrive at a best practice template for a title tag for my organization so does the following template still holds Primary Keyword - Secondary Keyword | Brand Name will anything be impacted  if I eliminate the spaces between the hyphen, will search bots be still able to treat the first one as a priority and the second as the secondary? Primary Keyword-Secondary Keyword | Brand Name thank you

If I were to spin up a new site what do people recommend as the best template, services, etc. Do you have an example of the perfect structure, I want to point my team to an example page and say - This is perfect, do this but for our product (structure, content amount, etc) Thank you,

                    Schema description wordcount guidelines ?

Hi is there a wordcount guideline for the description field in Ravens schema creator ? according to their page on event schema an excerpt from the page will show up as a short description but then their tool has a field for adding a description! I was just adding some edited copy from the page into this but if it already pulls in an excerpt is there any need ? I take it its a good idea for better control of what's displayed in rich snippet, if so what's suggested wordcount limit ? cheers dan

                    Multilingual site with untranslated content

We are developing a site that will have several languages. There will be several thousand pages,  the default language will be English.  Several sections of the site will not be translated at first, so the main content will be in English but navigation/boilerplate will be translated. We have hreflang alternate tags set up for each individual page pointing to each of the other languages, eg in the English version we have: etc In the spanish version, we would point to the french version and the english version etc. My question is, is this sufficient to avoid a duplicate content penalty for google for the untranslated pages? I am aware that from a user perspective, having untranslated content is bad, but in this case it is unavoidable at first.

                    Alt tag using photoshop

Simple question i think. Ive started adding alt tags to images using the slice tool in photoshop. This takes up a menu were the last part of is alt tag: This way to add alt tags does work right? I used SEO-browser afterwards and couldnt see the tag. There are maybe other better ways to see if your tags are in there ? Dan L.
