@arainbadami said in How Many Backlinks does I need to rank?: olehana It all starts with if you have a page you can dedicate for that keyword. If you do, then great, if you don't then you'd probably need to build a page for that keyword. Once you have an SEO-optimized article, you can then start talking about building backlinks. My company's created a free report, where you can insert your target keyword and target landing page, and it'll take what's currently in the SERPs and give you a recommendation on how many backlinks you'll need to compete. Feel free to create one here (https://www.basesearchmarketing.com/what-it-takes-to-rank-tool/). Let me know if you have any other questions!

I believe it depends on how much competition there is in your industry as well as how reliable your website is. As a general rule, if you are in a highly competitive industry, you will need more backlinks. In a less competitive industry, you will want fewer backlinks. If your website is not very authoritative, then you will need more backlinks on your website, and if it is very authoritative, then you will need fewer backlinks. As always, it's imperative to keep in mind that there are a variety of other factors that can affect your search engine rankings, including on-page optimization, the freshness of your content, etc., so these numbers can differ depending on the niche or industry in which you're competing.

@arainbadami per page you will need at least 50 QUALITATIVE backlinks. An exception is the home page where you need at least 100, again qualitative backlinks. Bear in mind you need excellent content and authoritative forums.
-

Keep in mind it's not just the number of backlinks but the relevancy and quality of those links. Analyze the profiles of the pages you are competing against to start.

Hi, The nowadays the ranking factor has been changed it's totally depends on you content quality and structure what type of content you post on your website example pradhanmantriyojanaa.in no backlinks have but they get ranked on page top page. So that mean to focus on trending and answerable content to get rank with the less backlinks.

I really depends on the quality of the content.

It depends on the competition in your industry and how authoritative your website is. In general, you need more backlinks if you are in a competitive industry and less if you are in a less competitive industry. You also need more backlinks if your website is not very authoritative and fewer if your website is very authoritative. But again, it's important to remember that there are many other factors that come into play when it comes to ranking, such as on-page SEO, content freshness, etc., so these numbers can vary depending on the specific niche or industry you're competing in.

@arainbadami it depends upon your niche and complexity of the Keyword you want to rank for.
-

The first position in the search engines is not given to the one who obtains a certain number of links. The first position is given to the one with the most links, as well as the most qualitative ones. So the goal is to have more links than your competitors have. That's why you must always keep an eye on your competitors and get links at a higher rate than they get, in order to surpass them.
If you can't do it yourself, there are agencies that create SEO strategies for you after extensive and continuous analyses of your competitors.

The number of backlinks needed grows faster than the difficulty rating. For example, if a keyword has a difficulty of 10, you probably need about 10 backlinks to rank. But if it has a complexity of 50, you might need 100 backlinks to rank.

The number of backlinks you need to make depends upon the SEO competition of thecurrent keyword you want to rank for, as well as your current domain authority and the number of competitors iin your industry. These factors pave way for your upcoming SEO strategy , but you need to continue building backlink pages regularly even after achieving initial results. If you are new to SEO, you can consult a top digital marketing consultant who will create a digital marketing strategy which will keep your rank solidified in search engine results pages.

It all depends upon your keyword's difficulty level and the competition in your target area. If the competition is low you have a greater chance to rank your website only On-page otherwise you need to go for off-page techniques too.
-

It all depends on the number of keywords and competitiveness level. For contrast, lets take low competition keywords, you will need approximately 15 to 25 for proper link building service. For keywords that are higher in ranking, you will need around 55 to 100 or more backlinks for link building. Each case can vary depending on any website’s domain authority. I suggest checking out Your SEO Shop. They have blogs with quality information regarding SEO.

It really depends on the keywords you are trying to rank high with Google that determines the backlink count you need. Most important is the quality of your website's content, if it is not good then sending potential customers there will be a waste of time and money. You will get free links if your content is awesome. Also, link building is very important you have to go make backlinks from relevant stuff also one of the most important backlinks is link insertion that will rank you higher. hope it works
 Thanks

@arainbadami bro you need quality backlinks to rank it does not matter how much, no one told you about the exact number of backlinks every one say that you need quality backlinks .

 @arainbadami Hi,
You need to beat him with value added quality content. If backlinks are your focus then focus on gaining contextual backlinks like niche edits or guest posts - rather than creating more backlinks than your competitor.

		Backlinking Strategy
I am particularly new to the field of SEO and Backlinking and I have recently started my own blog feel free to have a look (https://thehorseradar.com/). What I wanted to find out is how can I achieve a DA of at least 30. What should be my link-building strategy? & what steps should I take first? With an abundance of overwhelming info available online I have gotten really confused about what would work and what would not. If someone would lay out the steps needed to be taken, I would be extremely grateful! Thank You Link Building | | haris3131

Nofollow backlinks - are they worth it?
As we all attempt to get backlinks for the sites we manage, I have to wonder if it's worth it at all to get a nofollow backlink. Does Google give and positive credit for a link to a site if it is a nofollow link? Obviously, the follow links are worth pursuing. I'm just trying to gain some perspective. Need advice: How to replace a high-ranking pdf with a landing page -- without dropping much in rank?
Hi! We have a pdf of a white paper on our site that ranks #1 for a niche term. We are now exploring the idea of building a landing page for this paper with an overview (2-3 paragraphs) and a registration form for interested parties to fill out in order to access the paper. Do you think there'd be any hope of ensuring the new landing page would rank almost as well eventually (top 3)? I'm thinking a key consideration would be preserving the link juice from the existing links that are coming into the pdf, and that 301 redirecting the pdf URL to the new landing page URL could help with that. Am I right? Or would it be better to try to reach out to the linking sites and ask them to update their links (seems daunting). Any advice/opinions on this situation would be appreciated. (If folks think that there would be a significant risk of permanently dropping out of the top 5 by attempting this, we would likely choose to leave the pdf ungated as is.) Thanks!! -John Link Building | | jomosi0

Backlinks from ads on parked domains? Is this possible?
Hello Moz Friends, So as I was researching some competitive backlinks and I noticed a lot of backlinks that a clients competitor has are on parked domains and they appear to be google ads from some point. You know the pages that this page no longer exists, or hey do you want to buy this domain? and it has like 6 google ads on it? Yep those pages. My clients industry is construction and their competitor has links from zombie websites, foreign, websites and more. But the links are no longer on the page. Like when it was crawled, their ad was showing. Does this make any sense and is it usually temporary? Thank you for your thoughts friends! Link Building | | asbchris0

A lot of backlinks from outside of niche – bad?
We have received a lot of backlinks over the years by users putting links on their websites to their home pages on our site, eg: our.domain/user1 our.domain/user2 … our.domain/user100000 There are 10’s of thousands of these backlinks, all natural, but many of them come from blogs that are completely outside of our niche. Only a small percentage of our backlinks 1% to 5% could actually be coming from pages related to our niche, the other 95%+ could be users just linking to their home pages. Could this really hurt us..? We have 1000’s of backlinks related to our niche, yet we’ve noticed that some competitors with less than 50 backlinks can outrank us for certain keywords.. Also related, we’ve noticed these user links popping up on a lot of spammy sites, directories, etc. We didn’t create them but we’re disavowing them now to be safe. So this could also be hitting our rankings. Link Building | | dsumter0

Are backlinks to a domain that redirects useless?
I am working on trying to get backlinks. We are currently redirecting a few Domains to our current domain name. One of the Domains that is redirecting is the main Domain, we will be advertising in the near future. Can I send backlinks to the redirected URL or does it only carry link juice if it is to the main Domain?
