I have spent years creating a brand around myself...for no good reason. I think I basically decided I wanted to write things about stuff I care about (at the time that was comics, bicycles, video games, and occasionally books or tv shows). I met some folks that had some well trafficked blogs and made friends at a comic convention. They let me toss some articles up on their site and I just kept going from there. I have written for many blogs and created a few of my own. Now I have turned my marketing and PR skills towards a larger cause in BicycleLafayette (bicyclelafayette.org). I am using my skills learned in internet-ing and networking to improve my community for cyclists through a non-profit that I started with a couple of friends. My day job, however, is as a marketeer at a small enterprise software company. I am the first marketer this company has ever had, and have no formal training, just years of experience. I love what I do...most of the time!
