Is it ok to have two blogs for my website?

The blog for my website is integrated, but does not have a URL that matches the text. The company I use for my site say that it can't be changed. Basically it displays numbers instead of text in the url.
So I thought, what about starting another blog as well as the original. Would this have any effects on my SEO, negative or positive?
Any advice greatly appreciated!

One thing to be careful of when creating a second blog site is competition against your existing site. If you plan on using pages on this new site with content that is similar to or identical to the existing site, then you will only be competing against yourself for rankings. So if you would like to create a second blog, then I would HIGHLY suggest targeting different key words then you used the first time around

The downside to having the blog be on a separate domain is that your main site won't receive the direct benefit of the links, social shares etc that your content draws. While linking from the new blog might help pass some authority to the main site, I don't think it's as beneficial as having the content be on the main site.
But no, it shouldn't hurt anything. It just might not be worth the time when you could be continuing to add more content to your current blog instead of starting from scratch on a new one.
You'll have to decide if you think the benefit from having keyword optimized urls for your new articles is greater than the cost of the new content not benefitting the authority of the main site as much as it would if it was on the same domain (I hope that makes sense). Also, if your main site has any authority at all, your content on the current blog will probably rank higher than the same content would on a new blog. Optimized urls are not as weighty of a ranking factor as domain authority. So those are just a couple things to think about.
If you do decide to start the new separate blog, I'd avoid having lots of links going back and forth between the two domains. Keep them one-way, driving traffic and authority from the new blog to the main site.

Hello,
It won't have any negative effects on your site, I would suggest calling it a different section. For instance, you could have Blog, Expert Opinions, Breaking News, etc.
Going forward I would suggest making sure the URLs are set to what you would like, it will save time in the future.
What platform is this company using? You could integrate a Wordpress blog and create your own URLs through WP. It sounds strange that this company cannot create unique URLs.

Blog post generating irrelevant traffic. What should I do with it?
I have a blog post that has been generating more than 75% of my website's traffic month over month.-averaging about 1000 views a month. Awesome that so many people are finding and benefiting from this post, however it is really skewing my traffic. I have an 87% bounce rate, and I'm only ranking in terms related to this post as opposed to industry related terms. I'm not sure what to do with this blog post. I want to be able to better evaluate my website's performance and be sure I'm targeting the right audience in order to gain more leads. Would a 'noindex' or 'nofollow' be appropriate here? Thanks!

Breaking a Big Website into Multiple Unrelated Sites
I have a big cluttered website that I want to simplify. There is content for patients, researchers, therapists who are looking for grants, etc.. Would it be a bad ideas to turn these into 3 or more, completely different sites with each focused on their specific demographic? Or should I just figure out how to organize the one site better? Today, I was reading Google's official article on Multi Regional website and use of duplicate content. Right now, We are working on 4 different blogs for following regions. And, We're writing unique content for each blog. But, I am thinking to use one content / subject for all 4 region blogs. Recently, We have published one article on USA website. http://www.bannerbuzz.com/blog/choosing-the-right-banner-for-your-advertisement/ And, We want to publish this article / blog on UK, AUS & CA blog without making any changes. I have read following paragraph on Google's official guidelines and It's inspire me to make it happen. Which is best solution for it? Websites that provide content for different regions and in different languages sometimes create content that is the same or similar but available on different URLs. This is generally not a problem as long as the content is for different users in different countries. While we strongly recommend that you provide unique content for each different group of users, we understand that this may not always be possible. There is generally no need to "hide" the duplicates by disallowing crawling in a robots.txt file or by using a "noindex" robots meta tag. However, if you're providing the same content to the same users on different URLs (for instance, if both example.de/ and example.com/de/ show German language content for users in Germany), you should pick a preferred version and redirect (or use the rel=canonical link element) appropriately. In addition, you should follow the guidelines on rel-alternate-hreflang to make sure that the correct language or regional URL is served to searchers.

How many categories should you have within a blog / Wordpress Site for SEO?
Hi Guys I am just wondering whether or not for SEO purposes it is better to have a small number of categories for your blog posts to fit into as opposed to numerous ones. The reason I ask is that I have one site which is fairly new to the search engines - 8 months old which has 7 general categories within the blog for instance "rail contractors", "railway construction" "airport construction" etc I have another site which is 10 years old which has built up 25 different types of categories for instance brand design, brand development, brand management (i guess you could put all these under 1 category "branding"? We've been writing lots of press for both sites... yet the younger site is getting more coverage on Google page 1. Would this be because the blogs / press are more concentrated under a specific category as opposed to being spread thinly throughout the site? Any help would be appreciated. Debs 🙂

Duplicat Website Content? (UK, Ireland)
Hi, My website is based in Ireland on a .ie domain & now I would like to enter the UK market on a .co.uk Is it ok for me to duplicate my .ie website and provide all the information on a .co.uk OR is this considered duplicate content in terms of Google. (I'm led to believe that your own content on my domain's is not considered duplicate & this is only considered duplicate content when you go from .com to .ie, .co.uk etc).
