How Good or Bad is having a blog feed(s) on the homepage?

Hello everyone,
I was wondering if I can get some different opinion about having a blog feed on the homepage.
Image, title, excerpt
I have several feeds on mine which I do not believe it hurts and has helped my rankings but I wanted some superior SEO brains to weigh in.
Is it good for SEO?
When would it be bad?
How many posts would be considered too much?
On my blog, have the most recent posts which have some of the same feeds. Which is making me question the duplicated content.

Hey Judd, I also agree with Martin.
I would suggest reducing the number of articles on your homepage. The homepage is more of a gateway to introduce further primary content, services and products of your site. A space to sell and entice your audience. I think by having so many articles you are potentially causing more distractions that necessary.
More content about your business and services would also be more beneficial than the blog content.
Maybe just have a single row for your blog, featuring a single article from each of your categories. That way hopefully you will enable your services to shine a little more whilst still retaining some peripheral related content seo value.
If people are searching for your blog content and you rank well, the articles themselves will predominately be the landing pages rather than your home page.

Hey Judd,
In my opinion, there're too many links pointing to the articles in the feed.
I'd reduce the amount of articles on homepage by half which means to hide the second row for each category. Because now, the feed takes more than a half of the page. Try to add more static optimized text which will be unique.
As long as it's the discussion, I'm really excited about some other's opinions.

Should I Change My Blog Permalinks to Remove The Date
Hi All Thank you in advance for any help. Last year a website was moved to multisite and the permalinks for the blog posts were changed to include a category, the year, the month and day. As a result most of the page URL's are flagged as too long. A number of the pages are receiving good traffic, so my question is whether just to leave them as they are or to change the permalinks? Homepage SEO optimization
Hello, I’m almost ready to lunch my new website https://thetravelhoop.com , I just need to create the content of the product page and put all the images. I would like to know what you think in terms of SEO of the home page (is the content that I want to rank the most). My doubt is that since it is a landing page, there is not a lot of text but mostly <h>. It’s not a styling decision of course (I know is bad practice) but mostly because they are supposed to be title/headings.</h> Do you think I’m doing something wrong, or do you have any suggestions? Multiple H1 tags on Squarespace blog page?
Hi All, I use Squarespace and while running my site (https://www.growmassagebusiness.com) through programs am seeing that my blog posts are being seen as one page with multiple H1 tags. I read through the SS help desk and found back in 2015 someone wrote that it's not a bit deal b/c of HTML5 and that the search engines will read each blog post as a sub-page. I'm not so sure about that and wondering what the experts think? If that is screwy then I'm considering possibly making each blog post it's own page rather than using their blog posting format.

Should we add our company's name in page title tag or not?
We have been adding our company (Townscript) name in all the page titles. For example, in an event page of Lucknow Conclave: www.townscript.com/lucknowconclave the page title is Lucknow Conclave | Alexis Society | Townscript I read somewhere that it's not necessary to put your company's name in the title tag. Target keywords on homepage or sub page?
Is it better to target main keywords on a site's homepage, or in a sub page. I would usually assume the homepage, but if the domain for the homepage doesn't include the keyword is it better to have a sub page with an exact match URL? For example we target the keyword "abc123" Is it better to optimise the homepage: brandname.com Or create a page to target it: brandname.com/abc123/ And leave the homepage to target brand keywords, but link to the "abc123" page. Whats the best option?

How bad is it going over 70 character for title tag length?
I know less than 70 is recommended. I am about to run a script to create some title tags and a few will be between 71-74. Is going just the few characters over ok until I can get in there and manually do them?
